Chapter One: Abduction
Sarutobi Hiruzen, newly reinstated Sandaime Hokage of Konohagakure no Sato, stared out the window of his office, looking down on the village below him, and sighed.
He looked down at the baby he held in his arms, looking like a mini-me of his father, the Yondaime Hokage Namikaze Minato, well plus the three whisker marks that adorned each of his cheeks.
Sarutobi sighed again as he looked at the peaceful visage of baby Naruto?s sleeping face, ?Your father stuck me with all this damned paperwork again?? he mumbled.
Sarutobi laughed at his own half-assed joke.

Outside the Tower and down on the streets of the village, people were rejoicing. The Kyuubi had been defeated. While they regretted the loss of their Yondaime and were deeply saddened and indebted to him, this was still a joyous occasion; the demon that attacked their village had been destroyed.
The shinobi watched as the villagers partied on the streets, and scowled in disgust. Instead of joining the villagers they opted to grieve for the fallen. Fathers, Mothers, Brothers, Sisters, Children, Elderly, Friends, Family and Lovers had been lost and they were never to return.

Sarutobi signed the scroll he had been writing before sealing it, getting up and placing the still sleeping Naruto into the room adjacent to the office, and calling for an ANBU before sitting back at his desk.
Just as the old ninja sat down in his chair, an Inu masked ANBU seemingly melted through the floor and kneeled in front of the desk, his head lowered.
?Hokage-sama.? The ANBU greeted.
?Kakashi?I?m sorry I had to call you here. I heard about Rin.?
Kakashi winced at the mention of his lovers name. She had been killed along with the rest of her squad during the attack, not hours ago.
?Do not worry, Hokage-sama. I am at your command.?
The aged Hokage winced. First the death of Obito, and now the death of Rin, the only person Kakashi was truly open with, this would not bode well for his psyche.
After a moment, Sarutobi nodded, putting his worries away for the moment. Then he tossed Kakashi the scroll he had been holding, ?Order the villagers and the shinobi to gather in front of the tower.?
Kakashi nodded and disappeared in a swirl of leaves via the Konoha Shunshin.
Sarutobi stood and retrieved Naruto before walking to his desk and placing Naruto down. He smiled a small smile as he gazed at the baby?s serene face. He was happy that the by would never have any idea that inside him he held the strongest demon on the mortal plane and possibly the strongest on any plane.
?It is time, Naruto-kun?? he mumbled as he turned and walked towards the balcony doors, preparing himself to tell the entire village that the Kyuubi was not dead but sealed into a human child. No one would know the identities of the boy?s parents though; he feared that the enemies of Minato and Kushina would harm the boy. He stopped in front of the doors, took a deep breath, and let two thoughts run through his mind.
?I hope I have made the right decision. Kushina, Minato, please forgive me.?
?I?m getting way to old for this shit??

As the balcony doors were closed behind the wrinkled Hokage a pale man with yellow eyes shimmered into existence in the corner of the room.
Anyone who saw him would immediately recognize him as Orochimaru, the defected member of Konoha?s Densetsu no Sannin.
He crept over to the desk and picked up the baby Naruto.
?Kukukuku, possibly the most powerful being in the universe and small enough to hold in my arms.? He licked his lips and smirked ?What a fool you are Sarutobi-sensei. The village will not accept him, nor will anywhere else, as it is for all Jinchuuriki."
He shook his head, chuckling at the stupidity of his former sensei before his form faded into non-existence along with Naruto, the only trace of him ever being there was the echo of his sick laughter as he escaped.

Sarutobi stepped out onto the balcony connected to the Hokage office.
Below him, the entire population of Konoha stood, talking amongst themselves, asking questions about their purpose their. Above them, on the roof-tops were the shinobi of the village, varying from Genin to ANBU but there none the less.
He raised his hand; an order for silence. The crowd quieted down after a moment and looked up at the Sandaime with rapt attention.
Sarutobi spoke, his voice booming over the assembled mob of people, ?We have lost much in the attack of the Demon Fox Kyuubi, and will need much time to repair our home and grieve for our comrades who bravely gave their lives. Today though, we honor the saviors, the heroes of our village. The Fourth Hokage, Namikaze Minato who defeated the beast.? A roar of approval, cheers and clapping erupted from the crowd along with yells along the lines of ?The Yondaime forever!?
Sarutobi smiled as he saw the utter devotion that the people had for his fallen successor. They would honor his dying wish and see the boy as the hero he was.
He raised his hand again and soon the crowd was quiet again. ?No one, not even our great Yondaime Hokage could have killed a demon as strong as the Kyuubi. Knowing this, he created a seal; a seal powerful enough to jail the beast by calling upon the Shinigami. A newborn, human boy was selected and the demon was sealed inside him. Honor he last wish of Minato Namikaze and see this boy, Uzumaki Naruto, as the cage of the Kyuubi, our salvation!?
The crowd was silent.
The utter silence was soon interrupted as one by one people shifted from shock to anger, hate, and fear.
The yells then started.
Screams of ?Kill the demon while it?s weak!? and ?Lets finish what Yondaime-sama started!?
Civilians rushed the door of the tower, trampling each other in a mad dash to break into the tower and kill the ?demon boy?.
Shinobi, mostly Genin and Chuunin along with a good number of Jounin rushed the tower, jumping from roof-top to roof-top in an attempt to reach the tower.
Yells of ?Kill the demon, kill it!? could be heard from below the tower as the shinobi, all of which were Jounin and ANBU, stared in disgust and horror as their comrades attacked the Tower. They understood that the boy was the container, not the contained.
Sarutobi was openly seething; these stupid fools couldn?t see that Naruto was a harmless baby boy. Through gritted teeth he yelled, his voice louder than any of the yells from the angry mob, ?ANBU, CROWD CONTROL!?
Animal masked ninja jumped from the roofs, narrowed eyes glared at the attacking crowd from under their masks.
Sarutobi turned and walked back into his office, prepared to grab Naruto and put him somewhere safe.
As he pushed the doors open, he immediately noticed that something was off.
His gaze immediately darted to his desk, where the baby blond had previously been, only to find stacks of paper.
?Naruto?? he whispered before he fell to his knees and screamed.
