A quote from Guy to Rock lee:"You worked hard Lee, there's no doubt in my mind the surgery will be a success. You have the power to shape your own destiny. And on the one-in-one thousand, no, one in a million chance something to happen to go wrong, I will die right along with you. Since the day I met you, my nindō has been to train you to become the most splendid ninja possible. That's a promise!"

Kishi gave every major character who died a little speech before they went. that's probably why Naruto touched his heart.. just to give him a few last words to rock lee and Kakashi(same thing happened with Asuma. that's how all major deaths are within the Manga. If Guy is going to survive...that would be very dishonorable towards Guy's Character. He lost his foot if not his Leg! and I don't think Kishi would let Guy live a cripple...He will get his Spartan Death!

I agree with the headcanon that Naruto gave Gai enough life force to say a few last words or to at least take him off the center of the battlefield. Besides, it was the perfect chance to show off Naruto's new unknown power. No one knows for sure just what it is or how powerful it could be.

I mean, we get that it's a power involving the manipulation of life force, but how well can Naruto actually use it is the question.

Edit: Actually, it makes sense. Life force is something of a flame and all Naruto did was feed it some more power so it could run for a little while longer.

Yeah. It's application is my concern, but there are two things we need to remember:

1) We haven't been given the true, clear definition of what it is.
2) This is NARUTO we're talking about. He's not a genius, but he takes what he has and does the most he can with it--usually more than anyone else. He's clever and thinks of things no one else would think of.
