Well, music like other media, movies and such does influence to a certain point on youth. The clothes, the pose, the behavior and the way to talk. One thing leads to the other until you have a some youngsters committing such things that hurt communities.

why is it the responsibility of entertainers to teach children?
If i child is bad is the fault of the parents. Plain and simple.

What kills the black community is the removal of the father at home.

U never hear these bullshit arguments for literally every other form of entertainment heck not even other genres of music gets this crap.

Well a person can make any type of art they want doesn't mean there arent laws on what certain age groups can watch

I personally believe that current rap music and a lot of the things we consider to be black entertainment is killing the community and making the black youth emulate behaviors that are rude, obnoxious, dangerous, criminal, and outright sabotage.

Rappers like Chief Keef, Tay-K, Playboi Carti, regardless of whether you like them or not, are having an influence on the youth to where they actually want to be just like these men. I personally believe these things need to be cut out and left behind, or at least consumed in moderation.

Any disagreements?

Lmao. how old are you?

Music doesn't shape the black community enough to be "killing it".

All the people you've listed havent pulled in enough numbers (Sales & Streams) nor been relevant in the genre long enough for your claim to be substantial.

Looking at the billboard charts for Rap/Hip-Hop:

1. Bodak Yellow
2. Wild Thoughts
3. Unforgettable
4. 1-800-273-8255
5.Bank Account
6. Rake it Up
7. Humble
8. Xo Tour Llif3
9. That's what I like
10. Congradulations

The only one who meets that agenda is Uzi Vert and 21 Savage.

You'd be better off blaming social media, quality of life, and gentrification as things killing the black community.

There are ESRB, parental advisory, FCC, etc all exits for that, but again it's on the parents to make sure it follows through. U cant get mad At Seth Macfarlane because your 7yr old kids favorite show is Family Guy, that's on u. Parent your children it's your job(not u specifically but u get what im saying.).

The problem is Rap cant evolve!..

Money
Gun
clothes
Girls
Cars
Houses
drugs

If your not rapping about these things then your not a rapper..

(Things they glorify in their struggle to have somethin)

It's glorified by those who are less fortunate, rap is eating the neighborhoods apart by glorifying those materials that every1 craves soomewhat..

If you not listen to rap an are black, for the most part your looked down upon an are called names because you don't agree with the idiocy of glorifying materials, celebs & lil pieces of green paper..

(I know, I deal with it everyday with my own people)
It's turning the hood into narcissistic cesspools of hate, mostly democratic run by our own people..

(For the most part)

You obviously don't listen to the genre.

"The problem is Rap cant evolve!.."

Completely untrue. Anyone who is a fan of the genre would know this. Given this past decade rap/hip-hop is becoming more and more accessible and popularized.

It's essentially taking over Pop in regards to its reach and impact.

No
Its all a residual effect of jim crow laws
Theres more crime rate in areas in poorer areas
Up to 2-3 generations ago black people were forced to have tbe worst education and live in the worst areas
If jim crow laws didnt exist there wouldnt be as much black-on-black crime,we would have had a black president a lot sooner, blacklivesmatter wouldnt exist.
There would be no environment for rappers to rap what they rap about.

1-800-273-8255 is hands down genius conceptually. :)

Hold up... How is Gentrification killing the black community?

Imo if you don't sing about p-ussy, violence and getting money then you not a real one so I agree.

I'm not saying it's artist responsibility but governmental responsibility

Machine Gun Kelly, Logic and G-Eazy say hi. :)

logic is part back u know that right? and even then those 3 artists are but candles in the sun.

I'm not saying it's artist responsibility but governmental responsibility

why would it be the government's responsibility for a parent to take care of their child? Sounds like laziness to me, i mean on average foster kids do great right? Isn't this how the black community ened up so fucked to begin with?

I guess a tribe called quest and the roots aren't real ones.

Name a genre that isn't about getting in the pants of the opposite ***, violence, and being financially sound.

Do I live in a real hood? I've been all over. Don't spin this as some bs narrative that you have to be from a place to appreciate rap.

Real rap?

Name your top 5 first of all. I'll give you time to hit up google for the safe answers. I grew up on everything my pops listened to. What my uncles and granddad listened to. That includes jazz and the blues and i'm only 21.

I know what the difference.

Shit is taking over pop now. Dont be surprised to see your fav rapper with katy perry or Bieber.

It was never new, but it's only been recently these past 2 decades that rap was been taking the charts as hard as it has.

Don't ever play raido, it's simple. Radio is primarily for F-uck nighas.
