A 9-year-old boy made it past TSA officials and gate agents without a boarding pass at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and flew to Las Vegas alone, an airport official said Sunday.
The young boy was screened at security during the initial leg of his trip on Thursday, said airport spokesman Patrick Hogan. Security camera tapes showed that the child then managed to board a Delta flight undetected, Hogan said.
The TSA allows special lenience for travelling children, but Delta requires that minors flying alone must be accompanied to the departure gate by an adult, who must remain until the flight has taken off, according to their website.
