At this point in time Goku possessed the power to destroy the planet. Gai would give him a decent-ish fight, but once Goku starts going through Kaioken it's all over for Gai.

DBZ smashes on pretty much any anime but goku was actually pretty weak during his fight with vegita so I think 8 gates guy wins only if he can stay in that form for the whole fight

Both Gai and Goku possess great hand to hand combat skills. Goku has the advantage of flying and energy blasts. 8th gates has proven to be a worthy technique in the narutoverse, it's far too hard to compare it to Goku's kaio ken technique. If goku was really smart he could fly 15000 ft in the sky and collect energy for a spirit bomb and attempt to hit gai, or just blast the shit of out him with energy blasts. DBZ power scaling is just to OP, they had the power to destroy planets even during the vegeta/nappa era.

A direct hit kamehameha would f*** Gai up, but it seems like their melee and movement speed are on similar levels (at least during the saiyan saga)

Goku's body is still made of flesh and bone, and could still be hurt by one of Gai's 8th gate punches

Kaioken and 8 gates are the same in a way both has risk to the user but goku wins with guy putting up a good fight dbz all about taijutsu and ninjutsu even match in taijutsu but ninjutsu goku soles with 4x kamehameha

the person who made this thread needs to watch dragon ball from the beginning. kid goku can solo narutoverse. no need to watch dbz afterwards, he should get some idea about goku's speed, reaction time and strength

The thing is 100x power is a MASSIVE multiplier.
If Gai's base power level is even 10...that brings him up to 1000

and I have a feeling his power level is higher than 10

Just because he can't harness the Ki to destroy a planet, doesn't mean his Taijutsu isn't saiyan saga DBZ level

Well I think you just went little overboard with coparing 8th Gate Gai to Sayian saga goku, but It is not stupid or ridiculous comparison at least which people have done with comparing part 1 or begining of part 2 Naruto to dbz characters.

Well Honestly I am grat fan of both manga: dragon ball and Naruto so I have to admit that 8th Gate Gai is not pushover but dragona ball manga part 2 is really on another level, well I think that Gai could have even problems with 23rd Budokai due to Goku's kamehemaha stated as Moon buster. Now it depens if 8th Gated Gai's attacks have potency of moon buster... well I doubt it, Country buster at the best.

IMo The strongest Opponent Gai would have slim chance to beat would be Raditz , the first villain in dbz and it is very generous to say it.

Anyway, 8th Gated Gai clears almost completly dragon ball manga part 1 expect end of dragon ball Piccolo Jr. and teen Goku.

^^ Well that is true, what you stated. I am sure Gai in base is not stronger then 10 by db power scaling, yes he is just as strong as kid Goku nothing more.

In other words 8th Gated Gai is the most Raditz level..., or very close to him
