8 gates..

Could it be speculated that different people are stronger with the gates? For example, if Rock Lee has the 6th gate open, & Gai also has the 6th gate open, is their strength on par with each others?

& if Lee's base form (no gates open) was stronger than Gai's base form, would he be stronger at each gate than Gai?

I was just wondering this because I don't think I've ever seen it mentioned in the manga or anime.

I think their power is different in each gate.. Guy was/is an adult so his physical strength is stronger then Lee in base & i think it apply in gates mode as well. IMO, Now if lee trains in base form & become stronger then Guy then I believe his gate will get that physical boost as well & he could surpass Guy in gates mode. (Each gate would be stronger than Guys if he surpasses him in base)

I honestly think it depends on how strong you are in base form & that equate to how strong each gate will be. Lee stated that his gates were nowhere near his sensei on diiferent occasions. I think it's because of the physical strength difference between Man & boy.

I used to think this aswell man but Rock Lee is not able to open certain gates so he is not experiended enough for them I feeel like once he master the gates he will become stronger.

Different, It was clearly that Gai was stronger than Lee regarding any gate. It depends on the person

The 8 gates boost comes mainly from overloading your body with chakra. So I'd assume that people with larger chakra reserves and/or better quality chakra would be more powerful than others.

Gates are like a multiplier, the stronger the base the stronger the gate.

I think it multiplies your base power by the same amount but different people have different power levels like hashirama using the 8 gates would probably enhance him more because of his insane amour of chakra

I think it's conceivable that ninja with different levels of experience, intelligence, base strength and base speed would have different results with the gates, even if they open the same amount.

A good example would be Lee vs Gaara's fight in the chunin exams. During the initial lotus (I think) Gaara was able to avoid damage completely because Lee winced from the pain and closed his eyes during it, which allowed Gaara to pull some shenanigans. Gai in the same scenario probably wouldn't have given Gaara that opportunity due to his tolerance for the pain of the gates which would have increased with frequent use (experience).

Well yeah. It's like if Kid naruto had rikudou sage mode he wouldn't be as strong as say...kid indra with rikudou sage mode. All it does is increase your physical capabilities through the roof. The only limit is how strong you already are

i've always thought its merely amplifying your strengths to the point past your limits.

so basically if base gai is stronger than base lee, gai should be stronger when they are both using the same gates.
