8 gates Vs Reaper death seal

Both are said to cause the user to parish, although they both have loopholes.( Naruto, Shadow clones)
So if someone uses the 8th gate to defeat an opponent does it count as a win?
If so then logically Reaper death seal should as well.

Based on that train of thinking Hiruzen>Hashirama and Tobimaru by sealing them, just like Gai> Hashi with 8 gates.

I've never really counted a suicidal move as a win, since the opponent is normally so strong that you need to die just to damage them. Orochimaru technically won against Hiruzen, since he survived but Hiruzen died. Madara beat Gai because he tanked eight gates, but if Orochimaru or Madara had died, that my friend, is a tie.
