I'm just talking hypothetically. If Kishi wanted to make them fight he could've had it counter Kamui for shock value / an amazing fight.

From what I know kishi made it seem that kamui's weakness is kamui, that's why kakashi was there. When he was 13 in fell for a ftg feint because his reflexes a kid was weak, but when he got older those tricks didn't work anymore granted to what he did to Torune and Gai when they used minato's method.

And too true, man. That war also generated the class that produced Kabuto Yakushi and Itachi Uchiha. Crazy strong power spike.

Oh shit they did. And I didn't think about it much but Itachi and Kabuto could've been in the same class or cell team for that matter. How old is kabuto?

Nah, Obito vs Gai was just a one page flashback gag. The fight was as trivial as they come. Kishi did well to make Obito clash with Kakashi given their rivalry while letting Gai's hyped 8 gates be used in a battle which had the biggest stakes of all and that was JJ Madara.

Also, I highly doubt fighting Gai would have any emotional impact on Obito at all considering how he didn't flinch at the idea of killing his best friend and rival (Kakashi). He did face off Gai anyway while he still had his mask on and he wasn't at all emotionally invested. Gai was merely another hidrance to get rid of.

Itachi was 18 while kabuto was 20 in part 1 so they could've been in the same group since Itachi graduated early. Idk but kabuto was a beast medical ninja at the age of like 5 or 8.

The two characters share more in common than most direct parallels in the show do. I'm glad it was Itachi who took him out, even if he is somewhat of a Gary Stu.

Itachi with the words and Kabuto the definition I'm assuming. Very true, but you know Itachi with those situation jutsus helped him win in his favor. Even I as a Sasuke can think he might of lost if he fought Kabuto instead of Itachi.
