If the blow made NO contact, there wouldn't be any visual showing impact. We see the in the middle panel twice. The first blow resulting to Gai blitzing and the second blow once he approached Madara again. Those effects wouldn't have appeared if no contact was made

] and in that second scan, he hit Madara a couple of times even while he was backing up against him, evidenced by the pinches of white. 7th Gate Gai is most definitely one of the fastest characters in the manga. Gates enhances both foot speed and striking speed.

7th gate Gai is the fastest character in terms of REFLEXES and REACTION TIME. Minato is faster in terms of teleportation and just instantly appearing somewhere.

Minato has been LONG dead. He died probably in his early 30s, which Gai is at now. There's not reason to think Gai's reaction time is not SUPERIOR to Minato.

ie. If Minato teleported behind Gai, there's no doubt in my mind that Gai has the reflexes and experience to counter it. The time Minato takes to move his arm to slice Gai's neck, Gai could probably dish out 50-100 punches. His reflexes are just THAT fast.

Minato still has the reflexes of an elite shinobi like Kakashi, 3rd Raikage, Itachi, etc. But they are still peak HUMAN reflexes. Gai's gates allow him to transcend that.

Who else in the manga can punch air and cause flames due to friction?

I ain't going to argue over this with you anymore...he dodged and blocked all that Gai threw at him. I dont really know what you consider a "blow" but IMO a blow is when one of them punches actually landed on madara, with Madara failing to dodge or block the attack. Thats a blow...

The panel is confusing and not entirely clear- however if you look at it -kishi drew in the (wham!) points twice in the panel. In two instances at the end of Gai's punch he added a symbol

The symbol is what is used to show contact- so yes Gai did hit Madara. Why Madara didnot freeze him in air, cut him in half, is probably due to arrogance.

Furthermore, those punches did no damage.

Honestly Ay/Minato/Tobirama are still faster.

And also, FTG didn't directly go at Madara.. it put Minato in front of Madara to do the attack.. however, the attack minato did was slower.


Again fans not understanding something and hopping on the bandwagon train without thinking things through.

Ay is NOT faster and it was proven in today's manga with Gaara's words. Tobirama and Minato being faster than Guy is arguable.
