Smh don't bother with Nattana.

I bother anyone on this site. Their debate is between them, I was simply making a general statement to any and everyone.

Lol, right. No reason why stamina is why Gai loses here.

Yeah..Gai says he was exhausted but somehow managed to keep the shark away from finishing him despite being in water Lol.

Was exhausted but still came in the gates to save Kakashi from the Gudo Dama..Opened a higher a gate and battled a Juubi Jin Lol.

He still cannot outlast Itachi, especially healthy Itachi.

Gai might get killed by his own Hirudora if Yata repels the attack back at him.

So let me understand this. Itachi is going to hold V4 Susanoo with Yata for the entire fight, Meanwhile Gai cannot go on and off the gates despite displaying it in the war?

Danzo was dodging Susanoo's attacks. Base Gai dodges it with ease...The only things he'd need the gates to deal with is Amaterasu and maybe, Just maybe Yasaka Magatama. I have my doubts on Magatama since it was moving at the same speed with Rasenshuriken or may even be slower and these people could evade it . Not to mention it's prep time

Nothing else I can think of would disturb him without the gates. Upon opening the 6G, he can blast Amaterasu flames and simply close it back let alone use the 7G speed to dodge it if he wants.

Gai clearly wins this med-hig diff.

I'm not disagreeing with Gai winning this, I can actually see him taking this, but wouldn't he need to know that Amaterasu is coming in order to go back to 7th gate ? Considering the way Gai fights against Uchiha's, he wouldn't look into Itachi's eyes and other than sensing (which Gai doesn't have), seeing the bleeding in Itachi's eyes is the only way he's detecting Amaterasu, which is out of character for Gai and if he looked into Itachi's eyes, he would get trapped inside a Genjutsu.

So, can someone tell me how he detects Amaterasu ?

He doesn't need to detect it, the force generated by opening the 7th gate should repel Amaterasu.

Good and reasonable point but he'll just open the gates like I said earlier if he gets touched. It's not going to do much damage in such a short period when he can just open the gates instantly.

Amaterasu is hotter but Gai can tolerate a little bit of Pain and in this case he'll be taking it for a very very short time:

That's a physical attack that's merely created from friction so it affects him as well when it's on his hand.

Don't know why people keep saying this, even though him or Sasuke using Genjutsu while they are building up for Amaterasu is fanfic. When you build up, its for one technique at a time, not two. No one has ever used two jutsu at once. No reason to believe Itachi can do it here.

Not what I mean, if he doesn't keep constant eye contact with Itachi, he won't be able to detect Amaterasu when Itachi does use it, if he does keep eye contact, he's vulnerable for a Genjutsu, I never said he would build up for two techniques at the same time. Also, I'd like to remind you that I'm not using this as an argument for Itachi's victory, rather, it was just a curiosity.

And I guess I can agree with Evani's point.

Itachi's only chance of winning is getting Gai in genjutsu, which is rather unlikely.
Gai wins both scenarios.

Also, enduring the 8th gate for so long is the epitome of pain tolerance :p

Itachi's stamina is shit compared to Gai's. He'll get outlasted from using Susanoo. He also will have his body and cells in pain from using Susanoo. I don't remember similar effects being said for Gai's 7 Gates. So Gai med diff. U_U

Intel is manga, Gai does not know about Yata Mirror, while Itachi should know about the gates if Kakashi knows.

Gai gets outlasted in S1 and 2. If Hirudora fails, then he goes straight to Asakujaku and burns out.

Gai isn't faster than the speed of lightning, which Itachi reacted to at an exhausted state. Itachi wins.

Reacting to something and outspeeding something are two different things, friend.

A pencil can be chucked at me at a mph faster than than I can run, but I can move to the side (at a rate not faster than it), why? Because I can react to it. If a pencil is shot out at the same time I run from point A to point B, and I arrive faster than it, I have successfully outsped it. If you were to say Itachi moves faster than lightning, and gai cannot react to lightning, you have a valid point. However, we have nothing here for movement speed, just a reaction feat. It isn't always usable logic in battles. You can say someone has a light beam that fires at the speed of light, and a person who can react to light speeds. That's nice and all, but when that light beam has a city level AoE, the person who could react to the beam in most all cases isn't getting over it due to his reactions.
