Anyone else watch them? Thoughts on the winners?

I was pretty pleased with the awards overall, even if some of my predictions were wrong (thought for sure The Big Short would take Best Comedy and Screenplay). Don't agree with the politics behind Sly winning Supporting Actor, though I am happy for the guy. Writing on the Wall wasn't nearly good enough to steal the Song award from See You Again or Love Me Like You Do, but whatever.

Only one that really annoyed me was The Revenant winning Best Drama (and Director to a lesser extent). I just saw it today and thought it was a great film (Leo's definitely getting his first Oscar), but by no means a better film than Room or Spotlight or Carol, or even Mad Max: Fury Road.

I loved The Revenant. It's one of my favourite movie now.

Haven't seen the other ones you listed though.

Max Max: Fury Road? Not a chance, man The only truly amazing parts of the film were Leo's performance and everything that went into filming it. And I haven't seen the others either, but the reviews are tremendous and Room at least looks decent and not entirely boring like the other two.

Oh I know, the Globes just happened, though. You think I'll still care once the Oscars and Grammys come around? lol

And yes, I swear if they rob Kendrick a second time, I'm never watching them again. That album was just too perfect and too important to lose anything it's up for.

Actually currently he's never had the circumstances that much in his favor as now. His role in The Revenant is applauded by almost anyone, I have yet to see someone saying something negative about it; his direct competition for the oscar is also less severe than the previous times and often if you win a Golden Globe, you also win an oscar though that's not written in stone.

I can't wait the reactions when he finally wins his oscar. If that doesn't break the internet, nothing will. And if he doesn't, I cant wait likewise to see the reactions of people mocking it xd
