Naruto stood up from his chair and walked over to the railing in order to address everyone in the arena.
Naruto: After these three 'eventful' rounds we will take a short one hour break so that the remaining fighters can prepare for the final round.
Naruto then turned around and walked back to his chair which he then sunk into, exhaling loudly.
Naruto: Being formal is really annoying... Anyway, what did you think of the matches.
A: There is something off about that Nodoka kid. I get a bad feeling every time I look at him.
Naruto: Hmm, me too. Did you see how those metal pillars just rusted away, I've never seen anything like it.
Gaara abruptly walked past Naruto and A while they were speaking with each other. He strode towards the stairs at a slow Gaara-like pace.
Naruto: Where are you going?
Gaara: For a walk...
Naruto: Alright, bring me back a drink. I'm really really thirsty.
A: I wouldn't mind one either, Kazekage.
Gaara sighed and stopped on the first step.
Gaara: What kind...?
Chi, Nagare and Minato stood outside Taku's room while the doctor's were in there doing their best. Minato paced up and down the corridor countless times. Nagare stood right next to the door with her hands behind her back. She was looking down at the ground but every time Minato walked by she would look up at him then her worrying expression would sink low again. Chi didn't want to pace the same way Minato was pacing so he was pacing on the roof instead. When Minato was walking down to the bottom of the corridor, Chi would be walking to the other end instead and so on. One of the doctors emerged from the room and closed the door behind him. He looked at them with a somber expression on his face and informed them of Taku's injuries. Minato and Nagare stood in front of the doctor while Chi's hanging head was in between them.
Doctor: I'm afraid it's some bad news. All of the metacarpal bones in Taku's right hand have been broken. Also the joint connecting his lower arm to his forearm has been completely shattered on both arms. These injuries are treatable through surgery but we also found something particularly worrying. The elbow joint on his right arm, his ulna, radius and humerus bones on his right arm, the same bones on his left arm as well and the metacarpal bones in his right hand have all been frozen. It is possible to thaw his bones with fire chakra but this will take a very long time, then we have to perform various operations and lastly his bed rest. He won't be able to perform any of his duties as a ninja for at least ten months, I'm sorry.
The doctor then bowed his head to them and walked back into Taku's room.
Nagare: Thank you doctor.
The silence between the three lasted for a long time until Nagare finally spoke up.
Nagare: We need to figure out his weakness.
Minato and Chi both looked at her with hopeful faces because they knew once Nagare started to think about things in depth she'd normally be able to do anything. Nagare sat down on the chair opposite Taku's room and crossed her legs.
Nagare: What do we know about him already? He only blocks attacks with his right arm and left leg. Not once have we seen him perform a jutsu with his right arm. It has always been his left.
Minato: What about when Taku punched him right in the face, it looked like it had no effect.
Nagare: It mightn't have been as powerful as we thought and perhaps he used some sort of hardening jutsu under all of his clothes. Those are the only two reasons I can think of for that. Now that strange rusting technique, I remember reading a book on the clans of Konoha. The book was pretty old, it looked interesting so I flicked through and saw a clan that I'd never even heard of before. I can't remember what they're called, it was this long and complicated name...
Gaara: The Getsueikirite Clan.
Gaara walked around the corner at the end of the hallway and walked towards them.
Gaara: Revered as the "Clan With Many Kekkei Genkai."
Chi, Nagare and Minato: Kazekage sama, what are you doing here? And how do you know about that Clan?
Gaara: I have come to see you three and inform you about the Clan that also carries my power. Walk with me.
Gaara walked past them and continued to, the three looked at each other, simultaneously shrugged and followed him.
Chi: What do you mean? The Getsueikirite Clan also carry yours powers.
Gaara: Members of the clan also hold the ability to wield the immense power of sand release.
Nagare: But he hasn't used sand release.
Gaara: But he has used the Clan's kekkei tota. Rust release.
Minato: And ice release...
Gaara: What?
Minato: He froze Taku's bones and snapped them like twigs.
Gaara: Hmm...
They stopped at a vending machine and Gaara put some money into it so that he could buy two cans of cola.
Gaara: The Getsueikirite Clan have three fundamental powers that make up rust release. Sand release, ice release and wood release. Since this boy can use rust release, I'm guessing...
Gaara paused and hesitated to finish his sentence. He quickly punched the the plastic window and the can fell to the bottom of the machine. Minato and Chi bent down and retrieved them. They then handed them over to Gaara.
Gaara: Thank you. Now, I'm guessing that this boy carries each elemental ability that forms rust release and the kekkei tota itself. Although I can't believe this myself. This shouldn't be possible at all. There hasn't been a rust release user since Minoru Senju, I thought the ability had died out. It should have.
Minato: So you're saying the worst case scenario is that he has three incredibly strong kekkei genkai and a kekkei tota at his disposal?
Gaara: Yes and that is why if you fight him and he decides to use these powers, if he has them, then there's a good chance that whoever fights next, especially you Minato, will be killed. The both of you aren't yet strong enough to fight someone like that so I'd recommend that you pull out of the chunin exam right now, this isn't worth losing your life over.
Minato: You know my Dad don't you? You were great friends and still are, he told me stories. What would he do in my situation if you were in Taku's situation. No disrespect Kazekage sama but asking me to give up like that is exactly like asking me to give up on my nakama.
Chi: And me... Well, so many people have given up throughout history and it's getting repetitive. If I gave up now I'd be just like them and I wouldn't want that. The only way I'll be dropping out is if I am killed...
Minato and Chi both looked at Gaara and he could see the sheer determination and readiness in their eyes.
Gaara: Minato, your eyes are just like your Father's and Chi... I've never seen anyone like you before. I will have faith in you both just don't get yourselves killed.
Chi took his sunglasses out of his pocket and put them on, cracking a smile at Gaara as he buried his hands back in his pockets. Minato put both hands behind his head and gave Gaara a big grin. Gaara looked at both of them and nodded as he walked past them and back to the Hokage viewing area.
