I don't see him beating 7 Kage level Swordsmen. The kage was half dead when fighting Madera the 1st time after fighting Rasa and Gengetsu. and Mei and Tsunade are much weaker then normal kages in the NV.

Zabuza using the Hidden Mist makes a cover for the other swordsmen to fight under. and unlike with Mei does not hinder the other swordsmen like she did with the kages.

In contrast Jinin as striking feats that place him around Tsunade with his Kabutowari. use of the Hidden Mist meaning they are fighting head on and he can brake the sunano'o so they are without the problems the 5 kages had.

Even though they were unable to be killed, unlimited chakra and regenerates, Zabuza was taken out and had his sword taken and the other swordsmen were taken out two. They only good fighters were Base Guy and Kakashi. The 5 Kage could briefly overpower Edo Madara and impress him.

-Gets taken out by Kakashi & Guy despite having a big advantage

Its a near braindead conclusion that the Kages dominate the swordsmen. They're cool n' all(that panel with them and later showing off their weapons were great) but too bad that Kishi doesn't know proper build up and delivering on hype. They swordsmen were simply under utilized and made into jokes due to Kishi's bad execution.
