Honestly speaking, I don't like the idea of two hokages, but what you're saying is probably what's gonna happen. With naruto wanting to become hokage all along and sasuke's sudden change of mind....this is the most probable outcome imo.

Many good inputs, thanks guys! Some of you mentioned Sasuke becoming the new leader of root, and yeah I've seen a few fanfics of that but is that really ideal? If I'd have to accept the obvious fact you proved to me that Sasuke doesn't have what it takes to become hokage, I'd atleast like to see him as a good version of danzo, Naruto's second man & perhaps leader of anbu (Screw root now that danzo is dead).

You don't vote to be hokage, the previous hokage or the elders chooses the new one, the villagers have no say. And Sasuke's crimes are minor or nothing to do with the village, he left konoha yes, but he wasn't known as a criminal or put in the official bingo book until Danzo came (fake) hokage. Sasuke killed both Orochimaru and Itachi known threat to the leaf. He was known as a criminal when he invaded the 5 kage summit. Sasuke never wanted to attack anyone in the kage summit, he sneaked in so he can kill Danzo alone, but Obito ordered Zetsu to tell the kages so they can get him and officially make him a villain and wanted across all nations. This was Obito's plan because in exchange for Sasuke they had to give the 8 and 9 tails but of course they refused. Sasuke even told the kages to stay away which they refused and attacked Sasuke first, Sasuke only thought back so he can find a plan to leave without killing anyone. If he was really back he should have stopped and killed Gaara and the Raikage but he instead he left. Plus killing Danzo was a blessing he used Shisui's powerful genjutsu to control Mifune, everyone knows his dead but no one cares, why should you?

Sasuke didn't want kill anyone in team 7, Sakura came to Sasuke and wanted kill him first, Kakashi also came to fight him off. It's all their doing U_U

Itachi did say that but if you haven't noticed, once Naruto has a flashback of Itachi saying that he says "leave Sasuke to me" meaning he will help Sasuke change.

The Hokage nominates who they might want and the Council votes if they agree or not and they can also nominate their own choices

Sasuke was still held as a missing ninja and the only reason Sasuke wasn't in the bingo book is because Tsunade didn't issue the kill order on Sasuke because of Naruto and Sakura as Kakashi states here

. Actually Itachi took Orochimaru out, Orochimaru was still in Sasuke body and could escape when Sasuke's chakra was low. Orochimaru and Itachi were both missing ninjas who did crimes before leaving the village but they became international criminals when they joined Akatsuki as did Sasuke. International criminal is when Sasuke is viewed a criminal by all 5 nations and was said to have no future

Sasuke can't expect the Samurais and Kages to just do what he wants when he is the one invading a neutral territory to do something that they don't know about. Sasuke just invaded the cloud village and Kidnapped Bee in their minds (since Bee snuck out so it looked like Sasuke took him) and he was seen in Akatsuki robes so to them Sasuke is acting as a criminal since he shouldn't be there and the reason they are even there is because the cloud village think Sasuke took Bee. Sasuke almost died from A until Gaara saved him, he wouldn't be killing either Gaara or A in his weakened state when Gaara easily shield everyone when Sasuke brought the roof down.

It's Sasuke fault for committing criminal activities then expecting no one to treat him as a criminal when he sneaks in a private area only meant for Kages. They found out Danzo was using KA on Mifune before they found out about Sasuke being there and they were going to punish him for it. Sasuke was going to kill Sakura before knowing she was going to try and kill him, she was walking to Karin when Sasuke was going to kill her and that's why Kakashi even mentions Sasuke was going to kill her when he arrived. Sasuke never intend to have her join him

. As for the flashback, Naruto said that because Itachi said he'll leave Naruto the task of ridding his hatred since Itachi planed to use KA on Sasuke which he couldn't do it anymore

. Helping Sasuke change wouldn't stop people from wanting Naruto as Hokage since he's been there when they needed him and is still there. He is someone who is viewed as hope for the alliance as Hashirama mentioned about Naruto's past that everyone seen

Naruto and Sasuke would clash ideals and it would lead to disconnect and destabilize the village. Sasuke does not have the correct mind set, ethic, or mental fortitude to handle such a position and should not just be handed the shit because he wants it. He has to redeem himself for his actions and the people of Konoha will not easily forget the shit he's done.

Naruto will be Hokage, and Sasuke will be a trusted friend and something of a Shikamaru-like role as top adviser, but unofficially so. Naruto and Shikamaru would make the ideal team and balance each other while Sasuke could come and go as he pleases, but offering his own input whenever necessary and aid in making executive choices with his own experience but not overriding the real powers of the nation who know what's best.

They both want peace. They just have different methods to do it. Also, one doesn't suffer from PTSD as much as the other one.
