rin opens her eyes, her wound closing up due to isobu's chakra as obito is holding her.
obito: rin i....you were...
rin: huh...who's there?
obito lets go of her and hides his face. zetsu closes around him
obito: my name is tobi.

obito: kakashi once asked me why. why did i become this way? he wondered if it was because rin died. but thats not true. its because this world is full of misery death and hate. i knew that from the very moment i killed my first mist ninja. rin, mortally wounded, never saw it and she never should have to. so i killed her for the 3 tails, had nagato revive her with the rinne tensei, and kept her safe inside the rain village.

obitos roots plunge into the mist ninja. his mask falls off. he is a boy, no older than obito. obitos eyes widen in surprise and he howls with rage and sorrow.

naruto: but...
obito: naruto when i was returning to madara's side i confirmed everything for myself. i found out the cruel plot behind rin's murder and kakashi's suffering. i found only misery and hatred around me. everywhere in this horrible hell of a reality. once i knew how fragile life was, how everyone, not just me were being forced to kill to survive every day, i lost hope.
obito: if you want to know why i attacked konoha that night and tried to kill you, thats my reasoning. because why should konoha be subjected to this? why suffer endlessly when a quick death would be so much easier and more merciful? i can retract that kindness and mercy if you want me to.

madara cuts hashiramas mokuton in half and pins him against a wall.
madara: im out of time. i want to end this war right now!
he powers up to perfect susano and begins sucking up senjutsu from hashirama's corpse.
the big sword rises up and swings down. the shockwave heads right for all the alliance shinobi. suddenly the shockwave is diverted by a blast of suiton.
fodder: was that the mist village?
kakashi: no they were occupied with the bijuu tug of war. this is-
suddenly people start raining down in front of them.
voice: rain village, arrived.
voice: grass village arrived.
even more jump down
voice; waterfall village arrived!
madara: whats this?
one of the rain ninjas walk up to them and takes off her gas mask. revealing...
rin. fully adult and battle scarred.
rin: obito what is this madness?
text: rin's return! and madara...?
