Am I one of the only one that wasn't disappointed by this chapter? Obito was never /meant/ to be a villain in a sense, given how he really is deep down. The similarities between him and Naruto were made chapters upon chapters ago when Kakashi Gaiden came out.
People are acting so shocked and butt-hurt saying "every villain in this series ends up converting to the good side". Can we think for a moment? Many of the "villains" in this series started off relativity good and despite their later "corruption" some of their goals were actually good things... it just wasn't being carried out in a way that we would reward them. That being said, the only real villain, the guy who has no reason, is Orochimaru.
I thought this was actually a rather touching chapter. It was a look into what could have been. Who else besides Naruto would go up to the guy who wants to end the world as he knows it, and go: "If things were different, I would have looked up to you." ?
I also thought it was an over all good chapter because we got some progress, I didn't expect him to pull out the tailed beasts, I didn't expect Gaara to be brought back into relevance (YAY), we are one step closer to this part of the war being over (meaning Hashi vs Madara is closer), and we are one step closer to the end of this series (bittersweet).
Now the bad things are Obito didn't talk as much, he made the "....!" thing that seems to be getting over used lately. I'm not sure if Kishi is lazy or if he figures pictures speak louder than dialogue. Kakashi really should be out there and with Naruto as Obito is being "reasoned" with, I would have liked Sasuke to say more (maybe about the clan?) rather than just kinda help/making a rape face behind Naruto.
4/5 for this chapter.
Now then, General things.
More and more people seem to be upset with this manga. Honestly if you don't like it, go read AoT or something (great series btw). That writer gives you a manga once, yes once, a month. We get it once a week. Considering the short amount of time Kishi has to draw and write (if he doesn't write 5 chapters before hand)... I'm not disappointed at all.
People are saying it lost it's wow factor or surprise factors, I beg to differ. This recent chapter is a key example. We have yet to have certain characters, or even the main characters fully develop story wise. There is still a lot of room to expand the story.
Anyone who says they don't like the manga, yet still reads it, is just a troll in my eyes, but I felt like sharing my opinion on the matter
