The 64 hexagrams is an evolution of the 8 trigrams style.
It is designed to defeat an enemy in six steps utilizing a combination of seals, tenketsu, and chakra natures that result in the opening of a gate
A gate is one of the 64 hexagrams that determine one's fate in battle
Each hexagram consists of two trigrams
Each trigram represents basic force of nature expressed in three different levels of yin or yang
Heaven
Lake
Fire
Thunder
Wind
Water
Mountain
Earth

The hexagram is chosen by divination. There are six lines in each hexagram which are a combination of trigram seals. Each line represents an exchange or series of exchanges that result in a seal being placed on the user, opponent or battlefield depending on the conditions and circumstances of the battle. Once the six seals are in place a gate is summoned that determines the outcome. The gates either seal the chakra of the target enemy, erect a barrier that limits the movement of the enemy, or opens a gate within the user allowing them to wield greater power for a temporary amount of time. Since the gates are based on yin and yang there is a mental aspect that is projected onto either the user or target enemy (talk no jutsu). The user may gain a greater understanding of his enemy, the enemy can be made to experience a flashback that breaks his or her will to fight, or the enemy can be made to feel overconfident or enraged leaving him or her open to critical attacks. The technique requires a byakugan user with a high level of skill but is ideal for a Jougan user because of the heightened divination and sealing skills that allow for the technique to be successful against more powerful opponents.

He's really not, Hanabi Hime is the GOAT of the new series. She's the only character worth the time of day, the rest are trash. Minamoto is likely upset, because he's probably closest Burrito fan.
