Well, it's just funny. An 8x8 square equals 64. Chop that same square up and you get a 5x13 rectangle...which equals 65. So 64 equals 65. xd

It's amusing, but it's just an optical illusion. If you look closely, the edges don't line up quite right on the rectangle.

The triangles and trapezoids, in the square and rectangle, are made to
appear identical during the rearrangement.
Orthogonal lines are there to mislead you.

Proof:
The tangent of the acute angle in the triangle, in the square, is 3/8=0.375

The tangent of the acute angle in the triangle, in the rectangle, is
3/8=0.375 or
5/13=0.385.
But these two values should be equal. In addition, they should be equal to
the tangent in the square.

This discrepancy of tangents means, for example, that the area of the green
triangle in the square is slightly different from the area of the green
triangle in the rectangle.

This can be an example of so-called integer arithmetic.
In integer arithmetic, real numbers are approximated with integer fractions.
For example, 0.37514159.. can be approximated with 3/8.
Integer arithmetic is faster than real arithmetic and it is used in
applications where the processing speed is critical.
But integer arithmetic has problems with the error of approximation, as
the above example illustrates.

Funny how that little crack makes up one square.

Also, I clicked the spoiler and didn't regret it.
