Hashirama ALONE can beat pain. One reason is-
Pain listened to madara as a boss. means that madara is more powerful than pain. also, hashirama beated madara badly.

Even naruto, not being hokage, can beat pain. whereas hashirama was a top powerful hokage. jiraya's sage mode is not a big matter. he didn't know the secret of pain's body, if he knew, he could have beaten him.

if pain was never crippled and didnt need to use the 6 paths he would OWN the kages and plus hashirama died from later injuries from madara but did madara die no so s/e kid he wasnt trying to kill naruto so ur wrong AGAIN and hiruzen was the strongest hokage so ur wrong again

yeah, you are right that hiruzen was strongest hokage. nagato crippled on his own will to use 6 paths. also, he will also have problem using all power at the same time. thats why he used 6 paths, 6 is better than 1. also, he was not trying to kill naruto, but he was also not showing any sympathy.
