ill b listing reasons i think zoro is superior to the rest of the crew

1.Ambition zoros ambition to become the greatest swordsman directly helps luffys own no one else on the crew is as dedicated to becoming stronger than zoro
2.Loyalty dear god luffy may have a very loyal crew but none more so than zoro in his battle against kuma he demonstrates this perfectly by taking luffys pain on top of his own
3.fighting ability zoro is clearly the strongest of the sh pirates besides luffy himself and zoros durability is off the charts he has the highest durability feats of all the strawhats luffy included
4.Drive(motivation) zoro has the most noble reason for going for his dream out of all the straw hats luffy wants to be king just because, nami wants money , sanji wants to find all blue , usuop wants to b a brave warrior etc
Only zoro has a childhood friend who died so he is continuing kuinas dream and fulfilling his own none of the strawhats have a deeper reason to go for their dream
5.Hes badass this ones more of an opinion but kind of a fact lol zoro is just intimidating and he had a reputation for being badass before he joined the crew baroque wrks wanted him its a huge list of badass moments zoro is in

He's superior in terms of power and responsibility just like Luffy but not in status as a crew member since not even Luffy considers himself to be superior to others. Luffy and Zoro are considered only in terms of shouldering the burden of the crew, apart from that there is nothing superior about them than other crew members. They're all independent with Zoro being the most independent member of the crew right next to Luffy as noted by Chopper.

All reasons are pretty superficial and subjective compared to the other SHs. Every SH has an ambition and would gladly throw it all away to save their captain's life and to help him become PK. They all beleive if they can't help their captain become PK, they are not good enough to achieve their own dreams. The captain's dream comes first and they are all incredibly loyal to go along with Luffy's selfishness.

Zoro was Luffy's first recruit so he of course has a "stronger" bond with him than any other SH. Its 100% trust and respect but all of the SHs trust each other. 2nd place goes to Usopp.

I hate it whenever someone uses this all of them would throw their lives for Luffy hence they're more or less equal in status arguments when much of same can be said about almost any pirate group in OP. All crew members of Shanks,Whitebeard and even Joker would die for their captain. And of course their captains treats them all equally well but they do have internal differences and hold different levels of responsibilities.

It's more than this actually. Zoro is the deutoronist of this manga. That's why he is the only crewmember Luffy doubted superiority even after 100chapters spend together, who is always compared in strength(including in 2databooks) and status to("why is he not the captain?"), had to be blackmailed in order to join the crew, has comparable will, whose dream are rivals to each other(Shanks/Mihawk), who has the most highlight moments only second to Luffy, the most comparable parallels to him(Coby/Helmeppo, Smoker/Tashigi, Teach/Shiliew, Shanks/Mihawk), whose dream is the most emphasized(only second to Luffy's), whose destiny are connected(Worst Generation), and who is always preferred in the most important moments whenever Oda has to chose between him and anyone, Luffy not included

Zoro's drive isn't much different from Luffy wanting to be king,
to be frank Luffy's drive is probably more noble than Zoro's because
all Luffy views being PK is someone who's free and strong. Opposed
to Zoro simply wanting to be the strongest swordsman, coincidentally
like his childhood friend.

ill b listing reasons i think zoro is superior to the rest of the crew

1.Ambition zoros ambition to become the greatest swordsman directly helps luffys own no one else on the crew is as dedicated to becoming stronger than zoro
In reality, Usopp's, Nami's, Franky's, Sanji's and Robin's dream are all tied to Luffy's more than Zoro's is. In order to accomplish their dreams, each of them, along with Luffy, must travel the world. Therefore, their motivation to travel the world can directly feed each other's. Zoro's dream is completely individual and independent. While traveling the world can help his goal, it isn't directly tied to adventure and can be accomplished with minimal travel. So, no, this point falls short.

2.Loyalty dear god luffy may have a very loyal crew but none more so than zoro in his battle against kuma he demonstrates this perfectly by taking luffys pain on top of his own
The loyalty is equal. It was directly stated that any of them would have sacrificed themselves. Not only that, but when Kuma gave them the ultimatum of giving Luffy up or being killed, they all chose death. Zoro's loyalty isn't special.

3.fighting ability zoro is clearly the strongest of the sh pirates besides luffy himself and zoros durability is off the charts he has the highest durability feats of all the strawhats luffy included
Sure.
LMFAO WHAT? Everyone Robin knew as a child, an entire island of people, died because of what Robin's dream is. Chopper wants to cure any disease because of what happened to the doctor that trained him then died (can't remember his name). Franky lost Tom. Hell, LAW has this more than Zoro, can I argue that Traffy is Luffy's greatest asset?

5.Hes badass this ones more of an opinion but kind of a fact lol zoro is just intimidating and he had a reputation for being badass before he joined the crew baroque wrks wanted him its a huge list of badass moments zoro is in
So? Sanji can be argued to be badass too, what is this supposed to prove?

Bruh why would you bring Law into this when they are enemies... what the hell...

All one has to do is quote the title of chapter 5: "The Pirate King and the Master/Great Swordsman".

"Loyalty is equal"... until Ussop quit TANANANANANNANAAANAN CAPTAIN USSOP.

Only guy from the strawhats to tell luffy of what his role in the crew is and what it means.

Guy who dies from nosebleed from seeing mermaids, is without a doubt more badass than Zoro.

*Sigh*

The **** does THIS prove? We're going by CHAPTER TITLES? You know, there's a chapter titled "Captain Usopp Appears!"

"Loyalty is equal"... until Ussop quit TANANANANANNANAAANAN CAPTAIN USSOP.
By this logic, Zoro is even less loyal for threatening to kill Luffy if Luffy comes in the way of his goals. Also, Usopp only quit because Luffy basically yelled for him too. Yeah, Sanji interrupted him, but Usopp is smart enough to know what was being said.

Usopp also confessed that he "quit" because he knew the Merry was ****ed, but saw himself as too weak to let go of the Merry, and saw himself as a burden that dragged the crew down.

Only guy from the strawhats to tell luffy of what his role in the crew is and what it means.
And? If telling Luffy critical information he needs to know warrants the title of second best, Robin and Franky both qualify.

Guy who dies from nosebleed from seeing mermaids, is without a doubt more badass than Zoro.
Are we going with gags? Cuz the guy who runs out of an alley then right back in the alley because he's loss is even less badass than a horny person.

Captain Ussop appears, yeee I already know. Though has nothing to do with Pirate King. :lmao:

The same Zoro who after that promised to luffy that he wouldn't lose? Gotta be updated with the manga, and not use statements that go against the most current. Is it the same Zoro who gave a shit about Crew's pride and Luffy's diginity, than others? Is it the same Zoro who reminded luffy what a Captain is?

Sure now show the scan of them giving luffy information on what a Captain should be? no? And Zoro wasn't giving luffy "information", he was reminding him/telling him that what he did is the job of the captain, aka nothing wrong with what Luffy did.

I would take that guy over, the one who drools over women 24/7.

Sanji is continuing Zeff's dream of finding the All Blue so I don't think Zoro has the most noble goal but still very noble to carry on his dead friends wishes. Also Zoro isn't the most durable in the crew, Kuma spared his life to where Zoro wouldn't actually die. Zoro even mentioned this when meeting Kuma on Sabaody. Kuma also implied it when he was monologuing while leaving Thriller Bark.

"Chapter titles mean something unless I don't want them to"

Gotta be updated with the manga,
Exactly. You can't go "Usopp isn't as loyal as Zoro because of that one time he left the crew" anymore than I can go "Zoro isn't as loyal as Usopp because of that one time Zoro threatened to kill Luffy." What matters is their progression and current attitudes towards Luffy, and their current attitudes are equal.

Sure now show the scan of them giving luffy information on what a Captain should be? no? And Zoro wasn't giving luffy "information", he was reminding him/telling him that what he did is the job of the captain, aka nothing wrong with what Luffy did.
All have given Luffy critical advice or information he needs to know.

I would take that guy over, the one who drools over women 24/7.
Reliability=/=badassery. As Vandereich said, badassery is not only superficial, but subjective. What's badass for you isn't badass for everyone. Many people, including me, don't find Zoro as badass anymore because it's gotten to a point where it feels like Oda is trying too hard to make Zoro the "badass one" and overkilled it to the point where it's bland, just like Sanji's nosebleeds.

"I'm gonna use shit that doesn't even counter his, while pretending it does". But I just hope you know Ussop had his little crew that he was the captain of before joining the strawhats, and thats what the title referred to. *_*

Dude left the crew, tf you mean I can't say that. He showed a stupid argument was superior to the crew, he made a dumb mistake, that questioned his loyalty. Feel free to use that, since it isn't the same as Ussop leaving the crew.

Has nothing to do with telling him what his role is in the crew.

That sounds like "Zoro's gotten too many badass momments, but my boy Sanji hasn't." On a serious note, he really hasn't had any badass moments. Dude lacks screen time as far showing his ability goes.. His last legit badass moment was in the Moria Arc, and thats it.

*Sigh* Guess I gotta break it down

The problem with using this is you're using something that happened with Past Usopp to say Usopp is less loyal than Current Zoro. It's not Current Usopp. You can say Usopp at that moment would be less loyal than Zoro(which isn't true. He left not because of a lack of loyalty, but because he felt his membership of the crew was harming it, in of itself a sign of loyalty to the crew's well being).

However, by this same logic, I can say Current Usopp is more loyal than Zoro because Past Zoro threatened to kill Luffy if Luffy got in his way. You can't use something that happened in the past to assess two characters currently, you have to use what their current characters have developed into. Otherwise, I can pull up shit like Zoro threatening to kill Luffy to say Zoro isn't loyal to Luffy, which isn't true because Zoro's character has developed past that. Same as Usopp developing past leaving the crew.
Has nothing to do with telling him what his role is in the crew.
Franky's did actually. When he reminded Luffy over and over that he needed to keep his identity secret on Dressrosa because it would jeopardize the entire mission, something a captain should be more responsible for. Just because it wasn't spelled out as responsibility for you so you didn't catch it doesn't mean it isn't there.

That sounds like "Zoro's gotten too many badass momments, but my boy Sanji hasn't." On a serious note, he really hasn't had any badass moments. Dude lacks screen time as far showing his ability goes.. His last legit badass moment was in the Moria Arc, and thats it.
Not really. Search my posts about Sanji in this section, I've been far more critical of Sanji than I have been of Zoro, including the nosebleed gag which I found more annoying than Sanji, and the fact that I find him the worst developed of all the Strawhats excluding Brook.

Zoro having too many badass moments is independent of my dissatisfaction with Sanji's character as a whole. If Sanji does more badass things, I'll still think that Oda is trying too hard with Zoro's badassery. If Oda tones down the "LOOK GUYS, ZORO IS THE BADASS," I'll still be critical of Sanji's character. The only thing I'm gonna judge Sanji and Zoro by is what Sanji and Zoro are, not on each other unless it's something like comparing development. Unlike you, I can separate my opinion of one character while discussing or evaluating another.

You should note that I actually like Robin and Luffy better than Sanji, yet you feel the need to go "Nah, you're a Sanji fanboy who's jealous of Zoro." Don't lump me into your bullshit "Sanji vs Zoro" fanboy war, the only reason I brought up Sanji is because I don't find the other members of the Strawhat Pirates to be characters that Oda goes especially out of his way to make badass like he does with Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji, and I can't go "Nah, Luffy is just as important to Luffy as Zoro is if you go by badassery because Luffy is just as or more badass than Zoro." That leaves Sanji as the only other comparison available.

Badass Sanji moments after the timeskip include striking back against Big Mom's ship and assuming an authoritative role, being the only Strawhat to fight the Kraken without the need of a bubble, the panels of Hell Memories(design and appearance was badass), and striking the Pacifista down in one blow was also badass.
