He didn't take on FRS, he regenerated from it due to being an Edo.

There were minor cracks on his body. It didn't do the damage it was supposed to so he did take it on, never said he tanked it.

Hirudora didn't even kill Kisame, its not killing the 3rd Raikage.

Hirudora destroyed Madara's susanoo, first of all.

It did not kill Kisame because it defeated Daikoudan and the sharks first.

That, and Gai did not intend to kill him, seen when he did not kill Kisame after stunning him, but rather wanted to interrogate him.

Remember Hirudora is extreme air pressure ( and natural, at that ) and Raiton Shroud is especially weak against air.

@bold: i just want to point out that the gates power repels water, so the attack couldn't have been slowed down. Because it was repeled there was no impact between the two, meaning Kisame took hit head on.
We're talking about drawings. The attack is so fast it shouldn't be possible for him to control hit, he should use maximum powr to be able to create the 'green tiger'. But all in all, the "he didn't want to kill him" statement does hold weight and that's all that should be said.
The armour is weak against Futton, not simple wind.

they can both come out of this alive if Ay combines his speed with Guys power so that Guy doesn't waste any extra energy moving around to match everyone else since he cant last for to long.

However, guy could potentially solo in the 7th gate and could definitely solo in the 8th gate.

Suiton its still water after all, only difference is that chakra was used to made it (shape transformation).

Not to mention Guy would end up getting his chakra drained (assuming he would survive being eaten).
Hirudora is created from the power given by the gates, the "green chakra" like Kisame said, that's what repels the water.

third uses amber pot to seal up gai whos stupid enough to respond to his name. they cant cause him damage fast enough for the sealer to come in and finish them off. hell stab would bisect gai as soon as he gets close
