It isn't bad or anything, but you might have an easier time putting in the highlights/shading/tone on a separate layer. Make the layer monotone (white). Set the layer with the tones to multiply and when that's done go in and and on a layer underneath do the colors. I know people that color TONS better then what I can pull and it looks like that what they do. I learned Illustrator first so use the pen tool and paths. But I separate the colors different parts of the drawing by layers and shade things individually.

For anime the hair's always a focus so you might wanna just do the hair on it's own layer. In this one I actually had the colored all in but I hid the layers everything else was on so I wouldn't get distracted
