My sympathy to all the victims and their families.

It's impossible to know what's in someone's head when you're swapping comments online.

Even if those 4chan users don't get into any sort of trouble whatsoever, this will come back to haunt them.
Hopefully, when a guy says he's gonna do shit like that on a site like 4chan, why would you think he's joking?

I wonder what mind-altering prescripted medicine he was on.

That's sad.

I wonder though, if the day will come when the news will say 'an American ex-marine- known as Aim64C on an animeforum- shot x liberals/muslims in Missouri [or: built a bomb in his ceiling and dropped it on the White House/a mosque] , after having spent years describing his hatred against said groups and how he would eliminate them, as well as why this sentence is a failure to understand his not-radical-at-all views.'

You know me better than that.

For starters - I don't generally hate people. I may 'hate' certain concepts or actions - but there are few who can actually qualify as people I "hate." Hillary Clinton, for example - I can honestly say that I hate her. Doesn't change that when two groups find themselves at an impasse while one or both has an expansionist ideology - one or the other must be destroyed and eliminated. It would only be natural for living things to pursue a course that leaves them or their children the greatest probability of living.

As for my methods - when I actually raise my weapon and begin killing, it will be with countless others doing the same thing. They will be panicked, I will be focused upon a purpose. At that point in time, there won't be a centralized media network. Individual travelers and ad-hoc radio networks or a few internet hubs will be what remains. Even then - the larger centralized networks are likely to be taken over or destroyed in attempts to deny conflicting parties control/access to broader information networks.

Acting overtly prior to that point is a very dangerous game. People do not generally follow crazy. A guy attacking a system that seems perfectly functional is crazy. No one really followed McVeigh, even though he believed he would precipitate a revolution. He was wrong in the target he selected and in the impact he would have. Even if he was correct in identifying the potential hazards of our system and the idea that the expansion of the government needed to be resisted - he was completely mistaken that even other government-critical citizens would rally behind the bombing in Oklahoma as a call to arms - or see it as a justified attack upon a valid threat.

Sure - I could make something like that happen if I wanted to. I -could- find a mosque and pass judgment upon the mortal existence of those inside. But it would be foolish and completely counter-productive to do so, at this point. People don't need to know I was right about them needing to be killed after I've done something to put myself behind bars.

They need to know I was right about the necessity of their death when myself and others like me are still free agents in possession of arms, ammunition, plans, etc.

It would, therefor, be foolish to act when the result will be futile. The government will largely destroy itself, and muslims are, locally, a rather muted threat on the whole.

Though no media would ever report me as a prior Marine, as I am not, nor was I ever, a Marine. I'm prior Navy. I won't beat you up over the mistake - but Marines will.

So what was his reason exactly?

" Kortney Moore, 18, from Rogue River, Ore., was in her Writing 115 class at Snyder Hall when she heard a shot come through a window.

She said she watched as her teacher was shot in the head. The gunman was inside the building at that point, she said, and was ordering people to get on the ground.

Ms. Moore said the the man asked people to stand up and state their religion, and then he began firing. "

I wonder what mind-altering prescripted medicine he was on.

Well, he asked people if they were christian - then shot them in the head if they said yes; shot others in the leg if they said no.

If that report is to be believed.

Of course, there are a lot of groups that want to kill christians, these days, so that leaves a lot of open territory.

Of course. I was just being sarcastic u.u

A difficult tone to read from the 'net, a lot of times.

Anyway - we have the identity of the killer, now:

Chris Harper-Mercer.

Friends with this guy: .

" An online dating profile, linked to Harper-Mercer’s email address and featuring another photo of him, says the 26-year-old was living with his parents and searching for the “yin to my yang.” It identifies his views as “conservative, republican” and lists “organized religion” as one of his “dislikes.”

According to a student at Umpqua, Mercer demanded to know his victims’ religion before killing them.

The MySpace page features a photo of Harper-Mercer holding a gun and smiling into the camera. The profile includes images of pro-Irish Republican Army propaganda.

...

In a blog linked to that identity, Harper-Mercer expressed admiration for Roanoke shooter Vester Flanagan.

...

Gary Evans, 62, who was married to Harper-Mercer’s aunt, told The Daily Beast in a phone interview that when Harper-Mercer came into the world, his birth father was not in the picture.

“They were separated when I first met them, and I don’t believe they ever were married,” Evans said.

The father is Caucasian, Evans said, while Harper-Mercer’s mother, Laurel Harper, is black. "

" In disturbing images posted online, Harper-Mercer, who was born in England and moved to the States at a young age, posed with guns and shared pro-IRA newspaper front pages, an Express.co.uk investigation has found.

He also posted a three-minute video on the social networking site MySpace featuring IRA fighters branding guns and wearing balaclavas.

On his dating profile on the website Spiritual Passions, he wrote that he "doesn't like organised religion". "

I don't find the fact that he bought one piece of Nazi-related paraphernalia to be all that strong of evidence that the guy was a "Nazi fanatic." - so I omitted that from my quote spree, there. He was, however, very fond of the Irish Republican Army.

Irish Republicanism has a storied history:

" Despite identifying himself as a conservative, on his MySpace page, Harper-Mercer posted numerous photos of the Irish Republican Army’s provisional incarnation. That group was openly fighting for a socialist Irish republic, which would be at odds with Harper-Mercer’s conservative leanings. "

The thing to understand, here, is "American Conservative" versus "European Conservative" - whereby a European Conservative would be defined as "nationalist."

An American Conservative, generally, believes in the preservation of the integrity of the Constitution, or is at least hesitant to make sweeping changes to governing policy. "Why try to fix what isn't broken?"

I consider myself a conservative (though on some matters I may be more liberal), but I'm no nationalist.

No one would believe it because /b/, the board it was posted on has millions of fakes stories and even has a disclaimer at the top of the front page telling users to take anythinf said on the site with a grain of salt.

****ing virgin with his little frog avatar playing cool on the internet. Hopefully he rots in jail.

Although I agree with you, there's no ''avatars nor signatures'' in 4chan. That's an opening thread. You open threads with pictures. It doesn't work like a forum like NB.

True - people become habituated when that thread gets posted +1000k times. It establishes a perfect environment for someone to announce death threats.

posted pictures of the mall, the time he was going to commit it, and his gun collection - not the usual spam.
