A severe weather warning has been issued for Sydney, just hours after the city registered its hottest day on record.

Earlier, the mercury hit 46.0 degrees in the city at 1.55pm. The previous high of 45.3 degrees was recorded in January 1939 at Observatory Hill.

It gets to 115 degrees Fahrenheit sometimes here in the summer and I live in California. We have had days where it was 110 for 5 days in a row. That's like 43 for you. Still, if that beat a record for you, bet you are feeling it.

46 C, 115 F. Damn. I remember in 2010 I had to work no less than 3 days that summer (outside) where it was 115 with the humidity factor. It's 10 degrees F, -12 C here now though xd
