Nagare: H-How did you do it
As Nagare slowly utters these words Minato walks over to her and begins cutting the wire.
Minato: I'll show you once you're free.
Minato chose the spots where he cut the wire carefully, one false move and he could tighten it even more, then the wire would end up cutting her. After a few minutes of negotiating with the wire Minato finally got her free.
Nagare: You were thorough.
Minato: I had to be, you're too feisty to take chances.
Nagare: That's right. Now explain...
Minato: Oh but of course.
Minato walked over to a spot on the ground where the tip of a small twig poked up. He unearthed the twig and started digging. Nagare, now stood above him, watching what he was doing. She then saw a piece of metal stuck in the ground.
Nagare: What's that?
Minato: That's one out of about four hundred.
Minato yanked a Flying Thunder God kunai out of the ground and held it up in front of her.
Nagare: How did you get that down there?
She looked at him with disbelief.
Nagare: And you hid at least four hundred of those kunai under the ground...
Minato: Scattered throughout this arena. Took a while but I managed. It was easy, especially since this place was unguarded and the front door was unlocked. Rule number one, always have the advantage.
Nagare: And you had it from the very start. You're something special, you know that. Raging I lost though.
Minato: Sorry, Nagare.
Nagare: Don't apologise for winning, you earned it.
She closed her eyes and gave him a soft smile.
Minato rubbed under his nose with his index finger and gave her a big grin.
Konohomaru: Could you two please move to the viewing area, the next match is about to begin.
Nagare and Minato: Alright, Konohomaru sempai.
Naruto: Did either of you expect that?
A: No, you're son is talented, Hokage.
Naruto: I left this place unguarded so that someone could attempt what he just did.
Gaara: I half expected it.
Naruto: What? How?
Gaara: On the way up here I sent some of my sand into the earth in order to make some more if needed. I sensed that the sand was being obscured by structures in the earth. But they're too big to be his kunai.
Naruto: Any idea as to what they are?
Gaara: No, but someone else must have taken advantage of the lack of security as well as young Minato.
Nagare and Minato walked beside each other all the way to the hallway. Minato pocketed his starting FTG kunai and then shoved the other one in Nagare's path, blade pointed down.
Minato: I haven't perfected long distance yet but keep it just in case. Think of it as a really early birthday present.
Nagare grasped the handle and noticed the extra weight right away.
Nagare: Thank you and does this mean I'm not getting a present on my actual birthday now?
Minato: Who knows?
Minato looked up to the right and a small grin appeared on his face. As they reached the dark tunnel to the stairs they heard Konohomaru shout the names of the next two competitors. Minato and Nagare both looked at each other. Nagare clearly looked concerned.
Minato: I know he'll be fine... Have faith in him.
Nagare: I'm trying but after his last fight, do you think he'll be able to win?
Minato: ...Like I said, have faith in him.
As they got nearer the stairs they heard a purring echo from above and suddenly Neko dropped down from above and landed right in front of Nagare with a cocky grin on her face. Neko was a very tall and slender girl, she was two years older than Minato and Nagare. She wears a long and tight black dress making two obvious body parts very prominent. The dress is also cut up along each side so that she can move around without being hindered by it. She has long and straight black hair that falls to just above her waist. Lastly she has bright yellow eyes that could be seen from a mile away.
Neko: You know what they say about cats.
Nagare: They always land upright?
Neko purred softly as she drifted past Neko and silently skipped to the exit. Nagare cringed and grumpily walked up the stairs again with Minato following closely behind.
Nagare: I can't stand her.
Minato: Just tolerate it, she'll be gone in a day.
Nagare: I can't after what she did to... Hi Chi.
Chi came sliding down the railing of the stair way with both his hands buried in his pockets. He slid past Minato and at the same time, without looking at each other. Minato raised his right hand up and Chi took his left hand out of his pocket, lining their hands up perfectly in such a short amount of time they pulled off an epic high five. Reaching the end of the rail Chi hopped off and turned to face them. Minato and Nagare looked at Chi while he looked at both of them. Chi had spiky, snow white hair and dark black eyes. He regarded this as a plain look and he hates plain things. So on top of his white hair he wears a light green baseball cap with his blue headband wrapped around it. Over his eyes he wears red tinted sunglasses. He also wears a dark purple short sleeved t-shirt with a long sleeved back t-shirt underneath. Lastly he wears light blue shorts and dark blue shoes.
Nagare: Good Luck, Chi. Do your best.
Chi: Thanks, Nagare.
Chi then turned his head slightly, directing his attention to Minato.
Minato: ...
Chi: I'm waiting, Minato.
Minato: You don't need it. Now go out there and kick some ass!
Minato threw his arm up and gave Chi a youthful thumbs up. Chi grinned and returned the favor. He then did some flashy back flips of confidence out onto the arena.
Nagare: The last thing you can call that guy is unoriginal.
Minato: You can say that again.
Both of them laughed and then Minato placed his hand on Nagare's shoulder.
Minato: I just remembered that I left a kunai in the viewing area as well...
Minato then teleported Nagare and himself to the viewing area. They appeared at the centre of the small room. Immediately Minato was greeted by Taku who jumped on top of him wrapping his arm around his shoulder. Minato did the same and they both banged foreheads. Their eyes lit up in flames as their two wills clashed.
Taku: Good first match, nice tactic. Although I kind of figured you'd do something like that.
Minato: What? How'd you figure?
Taku touched the tip of his nose multiple times.
Taku: That's for me to know and you to find out
Taku looked like a regular Kumo shinobi, white vest, black jacket underneath, black trousers, black shoes and he had fairly dark skin. He has the exact same hair as Darui only his fringe falls over the right eye, not the left. He also has the same tattoo as Darui on his left shoulder signifying that he has inherited black lightning from him.
While Taku and Minato were fooling around Nagare noticed that Nodoka was standing alone in the dark corner of the room. Nodoka always bundles himself up in many layers of clothes. All dark colours like blacks, greens and browns. None of them have ever seen his face or any other part of his body. There are only two things everyone knows about him. They all know that he is incredibly strong and they all know his name. He claims to be from the Moon Village but no one really believes that after the Sound Village incident.
A massive roar could be heard from the crowd.
Taku and Minato: Oi Nagare! The match started!
