Itachi wins using Fire Style: Fire Ball Jutsu to counter Deidara's clay birds and then Explosive Clone, functioning as a Kamikaze-warrior and getting extremely close to the D, causing him to ironically, be blown up into bits and pieces. Anything else aside from birds would be useless from Deidara at such location.

feat wise. i would say deidara would win due to the lack of many revealed feats by base sharingan itachi since most of his OPness is his MS. however, plot wise, like black zetsu stated, the sharingan is just another ninja tool, it's only as strong as the welder who holds it. and honestly, as much as i like sasuke. if it's one thing i've learned that madara and itachi base sharingan talent can hold their own and/or possibly beat just about most opponents that would require sasuke/naruto to have high tier sagemode/EMS upgrades to stand a chance against foes. with that said, if everything that sasuke, kakashi, zetsu, kabuto, orochimaru, sarutobi and danzo hyped up about itachi is true regarding sharingan skills and intellect in battle (which is most likely true since kishi d!ck rides itachi a lot with high success rate) he could most likely beat deidara. regardless with the lack of lightning (assuming he doesn't have one throughout the years as an anbu leader/akatsuki member uchiha whose ability allows him to copy jutsus)
