Ok so the real question is whether or not edo-tensi duplicates eyes.

if it simply restores the body why wasn't Nagato resurrected with his original birth eyes.

but we can asume at the point when edo-tensi was activated there were atleast 5 rinnegan existing at once: madara had 2 and obito had 1 and nagato also had 2

im assuming obito didnt Activate it himself because his orginal sharnigan would be the rinnegan but thats not the case. who else could of activated rinnegan/where did it come from?

from what we can tell Edo Tensei revives at the person's PRIME, so Nagato was in Prime when he had Rinnegan and couldn't move (most likely); Madara died as old man and was revived as like 30 years old dude


and actually it's all just 1 set of Rinnegans, and that is Madara's Rinnegan (most likely)

but hey, Itachi had his MS too even tho his eyes are now Sasuke's eyes

All the rinnegan we have seen are the same rinnegan.......and edo brings you back as you are when you died so nagato had rinnegan and itachi had his ms hance they both had it when they were brought back even tho their eyes were both removed

madara is the onlyone brought back differntly then he was when he died but kabuto mentioned already that he made him special

Well that also makes me think, The 6 Paths of Pain all had the Rinnegan eyes too, So where did Tobi get all those? But nevertheless it doesn't matter that much.

so far the only rinnegan that actually exists ( and is real ) is Madara's rinnegan in Tobi's eye.
Thats all, its the second rinnegan in existence ever after the sage of six paths.

this was explained a long time ago:

there exists only 2 rinnegan eye's at the moment. one is in tobi's head, the other is in storage. they originally were madara's when he awakened them, later he put them in nagato, and when he died tobi stole them back to bring them where they are now.
all other rinnegan are formed because of the edo tensei or because of the heretic path technique in creating the six paths ...

edo tensei rinnegan are nothing more then dust, the soul is the one that holds the power and the dust just creates a suitable vessel for channeling that power. if an edo tensei eye would be taken out it would fall appart and just regenerate inside the edo body
the rinnegan from the heretic path techniques are different. from the autopsi images at chapter 406 page 4 it's clear that the rinnegan remains in the heretic paths after it's been disabled, but I doubt these are usefull as real rinnegan. not one of those body's displayed more then 1 ability of the rinnegan, none of them did any chakra nature techs so I'm guessing they can not be qualified as true rinnegan since their power is sevearly limited. it's unknown if they are transferable but I doubt it.


and on the state that an edo tensei is revived in question, I guess that depends on the controllers choice and is by default the way they were before they died.
