You're not taking into account how fast he is. If he rushes for the deva path, how is the preta path going to stop him on time? One stab and the deva path is gone.

I also think that the Raikage can get away from bansho tenin if he's fast enough. With his speed, I wouldn't be surprised if he could break free if he reacted quickly enough

You're not taking into account what Bansho Tenin does. It manipulates gravity to pull its target closer. Every time it was used none of its targets were able to just run away because they couldn't touch the ground. The same thing will happen with the Raikage.

Along with the Rinnengan shared vision, SDR isn't blitzing them. On the other side, Pain has more offensive capability. In the end he is going to lose
