The 3rd Raikage was able to take on the 8 tails but only fell b/c he hit himself with his own move.

How would it go down if the 3rd Raikage fought the 9 tails instead of Minato sealing it?

he didn't fall because of his own move.. he just got the scar because of his own move.. he fell flat after the TBB. the 9 tails have more chakra and can last longer than the 8 tails whether if they are equal or not.
the 9 tails would take this

I think the 8-tails said they both fell flat with their jutsu's still active.

Kurama, he is much much stronger than Gyūki, and the third could only draw with him. Kurama would prolly be like no thanks, whip up a 1000 foot TBB and kill the guy, but without TBB Kurama still wins it, don't get me wrong the third is a goddamn insane ninja, chuck norris knows the amount of training he's done, and what he could bench.
