A dodged it, as it was already coming at him and basicially at his face. Sasuke escaped it, he noticed he was about to use it and tried to out run it but he wasn't fast enough.

Sasuke knew where the 4th raikage's was attacking from (raikage was in v2 + body flicker) but he did not have enough speed to dodge it(reason for susano). U can know when something is coming but u have to be able to escape it( that is where speed comes in)

I dont know why there are so many people trying to prove that Itachi can lose to somebody, not a fanboy but its kinda stated in the manga that he is a genius and one of the strongest ninjas in the series, 3rd Raikage has no defence against Yata Mirror, Tostua Blade or advanced genjutsu. 3rd raikage would be invincible against a taijutsu user but genjutsu is definitely his weakness and Itachi's stronger card.

How can Raikage Sama defeat Itachi?

Raikage Sama is lightning fast, it is once said that 3rd Raikage battled an army of troops by himself for days and nights. He .... died, like a boss. Well anyways back to the topic.

Raikage Sama has the advantage to defeat Itachi. His speed, and his fingers.
His strongest jutsu known as the Four Fingered Hell Bringer. With his lightning chakra built up at his fingertips he uses it to peirce, and oh that is cray. With only 3 fingers he broke through a solid, huge rock defence. The Raikage right now, (Bee's brother) broke through Madara's Susanoo by just punching through. Seeing that Raikage Sama broke through hard, solid rock means he can easily break Itachi's Susanoo, ESPECIALLY if he uses 1 finger. Imagine his speed with his piercing fingers, it is said that when he broke through the hard rock wall he even killed dozens of cloud clan along and it barely took 3 seconds.

"The only ninja able to compete face to face with a bijuu." Even when he fought against the 8 tails it was a struggle for the 8 tails. In this fight, Raikage Sama used one finger called the "One Finger Nukite jutsu." to try to cut off 8 tail's tails. It lasted quite long and none of them won, both knocked out cold. 8 tail's said that he didnt know how Raikage Sama was defeated, he remembers using the TBB, but the TBB would've obliterated Raikage Sama. In manga 555, Naruto used "RASENGAN" and it took Raikage Sama out. Could it be Minato that took Raikage Sama out? because Minato had the speed to surpass the Raikages. IDK, but yeah back to the topic xd

But just because Raikage Sama has the speed and all, that doesnt mean he is totally unstoppable. Itachi has techniques up his sleeve that can also make him win, such as "Amaterasu" (too bad it's too slow) "Genjutsu" (A big advantage against Raikage Sama). Itachi also can use Izanami or Izanagi, but why would he use Izanami? Oh well

In my opinion, i believe that Raikage Sama will win this fight. Thanks for taking your time to read, appreciate much!

well,the 3rd raikage can be a real threat if u don't have proper techs or a proper brain to fight him.

i don't even have to explain why itachi takes this.........but i will still state some points,just to make it clear for you........

first of all,genjutsu............as we can see.....raikage can be in pretty bad shape if he gets caught in itachi's genjutsu.as you all know,itachi is one of top three genjutsu users,if not the best,in narutoverse.

then the ms techs,the yata mirror,the totsuka sword,tsukyomi........i think i won't need to go further...

and besides itachi is one of the best strategists around.he would find an instant strategy to nail the raikage down as quickly as possible.xd

First - How do exactly Genjutsu is weakness of 3rd Raikage. No Proof Just assumption.
Second - Don't forget the stamina, chakra, endurance of 3rd is far greater than Itachi.
Third - How will Itachi counter when 3rd is using 1 Finger Nukite Jutsu with his very fast lightning armor speed. 3rd can appear anytime behind Susanoo and partailly or fully destroy it with 1 Finger Nukite Jutsu. Itachi doesn't have much life force to keep susanoo for long time. Amaterasu and Genjutsu are out of question because of 3rd's fast speed at this point.
Forth - I am sure being a Kage, he knows about sharingan and how to keep sharingan at bay atleast for some time.
There can be many possibilties in real battle as 3rd is very powerful so at any cost he won't lost to Itachi so easily or straight away. May be with high difficulty Itachi or Raikage wins.

IMO 3rd Raikage.
