wow i needed to comment on this, first of all manga and data stated it clear that hiruzen was the strongest hokage and hashirama was the greatest there is a big difference!! second of, it also says that he was the strongest of kages at his time.. it was written so it should be known.. if you base your judgement on what you read then don't fool your self its hirozen, but if you choose because of you like the character better then don't argue it will lead no where..

the 3rd raikage is strong yes hi is, but if he was "the strongest" we should have seen a dialog or a line in any of the manga that says he is.. even the rubber dude or "A" never mentioned him to be the greatest or strongest kage ever...

the manga has holes in it for us to imagine, not to be fixated on what we read alone, the data is there to guide our imagination it is shown here that 3 raikage equaled with the 8tails and fought 10,000 ninjas in 3 days befor ever collapsing, it was said by a ninja of its country, but never stated that he is the strongest.. if he can do that imagine what hiruzen can do as the strongest kage of his era..

Yeah, Hiruzen was haunted the moment he found out he would be facing his former teachers and his former student.Pretty much everybody called him pathetic and a far cry from his prime, which speaks volume when we think about the challenges his faced during the fight.

let's us hope for a gaiden, even though I doubt it,unless konohamaru gets a spin off.

Nah, he is not really contradicting himself. Hashirama was the strongest of his time, it just happens that hiruzen wasn’t part of that.Just because the third raikage could battle a tailed beast doesn’t mean he was the strongest. It just means that he was best suited for the job, with his famously indestructible body of steel.

How does that change what was said about hiruzen?

Statements made about the 3rd hokage doesnt nessaccy include the kages of past that have died like tobirama.hasihrama, 3rd raikage when Izuka said his famous quote.

So theres only so much you stretch hype to what he was really capable of. As far as we know he had alot more chakra when he fought orocihmaru anything else is speculation. Not saying this means nothing as more chakra means more power techs u can do but just be aware thats ALL WE KNOW.

So if hes stronger the third raikage does that mean hes feats would also be better? Could he take on two tailed beast at the same time?

And thats my point there's only so much u can stretch the third hokage powers because like the third raikage they have no bloodlines limits like so6p to do even more ridicilous things.

Taking on a tailed beast solo is the new benchmark untill we see hasihrama vs madara fight.

At best the third hokage and third riakage are equal. And thats more than enough to say about his knowledge in jutsu to combat someone on equal terms who is just a freak of nature like a tailed beast.

Anyway thats my understanding of where the 3rd raikage sits in the power balance in history. Taking a tailed beast regarded as the most powerful creatures on the world. Shinobi know tailed beasts are stronger then they are thats why they want to control them but to see a shinobi actually having 1 v 1 is ridiclous. Even hasihrama/madara were using there bloodline limits to handle tailed beasts very different to what the 3rd raikage did and that is very important to understand about the 3rd hokage as hes in the same boat.

There's only so much u can stretch hype because tailed beasts can't be overshadowed by the third hokages hype.

Out of the th 3rd generation of kages who do you think is the best.

Onoki- madara,older than sarutobi and still putting in work. Has the dust element including three other elements(fire,wind,earth). Longest living kage.

Sarutobi- Learned a lot of ninjutsu, Called the god of shinobi( thats what someone else saidnot sure where they said it in the manga) The teacher of the legendary sannin.

Thrd raikage- Tied with a bijuu, ten thousand ninja had to fight him for 3 days to kill him.
Dad of the 4th raikage obvioously taught him too. Probably trained Bee too im not sure.

Hiruzen Sarutobi Was nicknamed the god of shinobi, said to be the strongest hokage, and was said to be the strongest kage of his time and was also taught by the 1st & 2nd from a small age..if he was not then i see no reason why the 3rd Raikage should have not killed Him or made d land of clouds the strongest(coz we all know that the leaf is the strongest in the naruto universe ) u guys should read before making........
