Hiruzen had immense chakra reserves and a ton of jutsu's and he seemed to have been pretty badass at Taijutsu even in his old age. Versatility is one of the greatest weapons and that must have been one of Sarutobi's greatest attributes seeing as he knew so many jutsus. The Raikage is only strong when it comes to his physical prowess and his lightning abilities. When it comes to physical damage the Raikage seems indestructible but if there is a jutsu that could defeat the Raikage in a non-physical way then Sarutobi would probably know it. There's more than one way to skin a cat. Something difficult becomes easy when you have the right tool for the job. Sarutobi had all the tools.

Its like rock-paper-scissors and the Raikage can only play rock. And Sarutobi can play any of the three.

whats makes u guys think this even includes the 3rd raikage, this was said just after the thrid hokage died. The third hokage took over from the 4th hokage so clearly the 4th raikage was the leader of the lightning village. MIanto and A both confirm this.

So the third raikage was dead long before this was said.

It diffinitly includes Onooki as hes still the 3rd stone kage and hasnt picked a seccuor but not the third raikage.

Also databooks are only valid up until the manga to the point the databook was printed.

FOr example data books say the MS is the supreme dojutsu and it was when it was printed back in part 1 as we only knew about the byukgan and sharingan was revealed.

But this totally wrong as the rinnegan revealed later on is clearly the Supreme dojutsu and thats clear.


So if u wana say the third hokage is the strongest thats ur opinion but dont say the manga and databooks say the third hokage is the strongest.


ALso god of shinobi means the third hokage knew many techs and knowledge in ones he doesnt use just the so6p as he started modern ninjutsu.

And no, it does not impress me he fought the 1st and 2nd, just look at Oro`s fight with Tsunny and J dude, or the kyubi fight.

Nah, he is not really contradicting himself. Hashirama was the strongest of his time, it just happens that hiruzen wasn’t part of that.Just because the third raikage could battle a tailed beast doesn’t mean he was the strongest. It just means that he was best suited for the job, with his famously indestructible body of steel.

I'm going to choose Hiruzen. He was the strongest Hokage in history and he did it without any advantages like a Kekkei Genkei, Bijuu, etc. That means he did it all through skill. Plus, he wouldn't be so reckless as to use such a self-damaging technique like the 3rd Raikage. If Naruto was able to exploit it, then I'm pretty sure Hiruzen would be able to as well...

so the death god forbidden jutsu is not self-damaging? and even if one has a kekkei genkei is that less work? or less impressiv.

But i agree the 3rdhokage is the strongest, its been stated by Kishi himself as we have said on all 3000 post like this. even tough it seems that the story and kishis choice f this up abit, because if he was the strongest why and why did Minato replace him so soon and at a age so ung? the 3rd raikage was a beist bur i agree that the 3rd hokage was the strongest of this generastion.
