What do you imagine life and society would be like?

I fear it in all honesty. Approaching my twilight years in a world where the average joe is possibly so dense that's it difficult to do anything. The Flynn Effect is already looking to have passed it's peak, from formal studies and what I observed during my school days.

Children coming into secondary school aged 11, not even knowing how to tell the time was pretty unnerving. The same children didn't have any learning difficulties but still struggled to read. They do so like I would've done aged 4! If this can be said of children in 2012, what will they be like in even only eight more years? Even during the effect's climb, it was obvious that we're less intelligent than our ancestors, though it has been more masked by greater knowledge and understanding.


So, what do you think the world will be like on October 30th, 2055?

Those are extreme cases, I have yet to meet children that dumb however I do think we are becoming dumber but in more subtle ways.

Also, why do boys seem to be hitting puberty at later ages? The ninth graders in my school, for the most part have shown little to no signs of puberty. They seem at least two years behind.

In 2055, if we don't end up in a third world war killing each other with nukes, then yeah, I think we'll be dying of stupidity.

White people have a diminishing birth rate, as a result their population is bound to drop if we extrapolate using current data.

The Japanese may go extinct since there are more elderly than young and no of them are procreating because they don't want children to bog them down.

Resources will probably hit an all time low as world population will probably be somewhere around 20 billion by then so expect large cases of famine and pestilence around the world.

Still, Maybe (as Loki stated) something will come of Mars and we terraform that planet and move there...who knows.
