3 Reasons Shino Would Make A Good Hokage

Out of all of K11's options for Hokage, Shikamaru is obviously one of the clearest choices.

But you want to know an extremely underated shinobi that would do just as well a job, if not better?

Shino!

After Shikamaru, I think Shino is the best option for Hokage (Yes, even over Naruto).

(3- Intelligence)

While creepy, Shino is the 2nd smartest member of K11. He would have no problem coming up with defensive strategies of attacks as Hokage for the village.

(2- Strength)

Shino is no pushover in the power department, either. His abilities as a sensor coupled with his intelligence make him an extremely tough opponent. I don't think defending the village would be too difficult for him.

(1- Leadership)

Shino is the leader of his team. There could be some argument as to how Kiba is, but I believe it's clear Shino leads that team. While he's not exactly the most personable, Shino has displayed the qualities to lead people, and this only contributes to his abilities as a Hokage.

This is just out of K11's options. Who else, besides Shikamaru, would you have chosen? Naruto, the guy who makes rash descisions that everyone else has to save him from?

You need sort of a personality to be Hokage to get people to follow and believe in you. Shino doesn't have one. He is a blank slate.

Kiba is more the leader of Team 8. And Sakura might be second smartest out of the K11.

The problem with Shino is that Shikamaru is just a better version of him. He is much smarter and a proven leader, people will listen to. While else would he have been made the 4th Division's commander under Gaara during the war? Shino would never get that job.

And yes, Sakura would probably be a better Hokage. Shino just doesn't communicate enough.

Hes progressing with his intelligence for sure. He is clearly the most obvious option. I dont think Shino nor Shikamaru has the abilities to defend the village with a tenth of the efficiency Naruto can. Look at every other Kage weve seen so far. Both Shino and Shikamaru would get massacred. The Hokage has to be someone who makes good decisions yes, but also has to be powerful as well. Shikamaru could get the same position as his dad and make strategic decisions but hes no Kage.

I agree that Shino is smart, and I wouldn't call him a pushover. I don't think he has the heart for the job though. He's no Naruto in terms of charisma. You can't always convince others to follow you based on logic alone.

His cool head would make him an excellent adviser though.

Well it's not everyday you face a threat like a giant Edo Army with Madara and the Juubi at the helm. Shino could have put up a good defense during the attack on the lead by Orochimaru if you ask me.

i think that you need more than intelegence to be an hokage
you need leadership, you nee to be the face of the people and they need to know you and you to know them, so i think naruto is a natural choice, for an example look at hasi or minato

People here do not realize that a hokage system (which is politically somewhere in between a modern democracy and a dictatorship) entails much more than merely fighting in wars or to protect the village. Because it is not actually discussed or portrayed does not mean social, economic and political realities do no exist, that statesmanship is not a prerequisite. Just as in the real world a retard like Naruto would never be apt as a leader so too he is not apt for the hokage title except only with respect to fighting, at best Naruto would be a guardian of the village, not its statesman and leader.

Realistically, the best leaders in this manga are people who would make the best hokages in a hypothetical narutoverse are the likes of Tobirama and Danzo; the manga plot may betoken the converse but that is only because the author is trying to convey an farcically idealistic moral message here.

Im well aware but the Kage in the village is supposed to be the strongest shinobi in the village. And that is currently Naruto by a mile. And we havent seen much of him but whenever he shows up he wrecks shit but im not going to go as far to say that he couldve defended the village better than the 3rd.
