[Discussion] 3 Gripes You Have With Fairy Tail?

I thought it was time to also criticize my favs at times so I made one of these for 4 of my fav manga that have their own sections on the base, check them out

the 3 biggest gripes I have with Fairy Tail

Fairy Tail

1. Power scaling: in FT it is simply impossible to make a good power tier list due to the friendship stuff and inconsistent power levels, contradicting power presentations, and especially stuff like Erza's all powerful armor and Fairy Law

2. the overly dramatic scenes that lead to nothing (some examples include Wendy and Charla when they were saved by Dranbalt (or something like that), when Gray died, Happy and the afro, …) the main problem with that is that you know that most likely the drama will just lead to nothing and I just feel stupid reading it also the overly corny lines and speeches about friendship etc (just make me feel stupid reading them)

3. the plot: while FT has plot it is definitely not a strong point of FT (tho Hiro has showed with RM that he can write a good story) and it's not one of the things that have kept me reading FT, those were the likeable characters, the funnys and the fights

What I really dislike about Fairy tail is that Fanservice is actually affecting the plot *Cough* Grand magic games arc *Cough*
It's way too predictable. Natsu jumps in and say's ''I'm fired up !'' and they instantly win the battle, Lucy is overrated !

I dropped the series Animation was horrible. below Pokemon level.

yes but they are 4 different threads about 4 different manga, though they do have a common theme

and by NB standards they aren't even short (which is kinda sad)

i really enjoy the fairytail manga..

one thing that does bother me a little bit is that random powers sort of come from knowhere xD ...

gajeel gaining shadow for a while and natsu having lightning..

1- Fan service during important times, like that dragon that took girl's clothes

2- Grand Magic Games arc

3- Natsu always talking about it's the power of friendship that makes people win fights but in the end he only wins cuz someone gives him an element super strong to win

1. Pointless fanservice.
2. Nakama bullcrap.
3. No sense of danger all a big joke the bad guys are meaningless.

1-The pointless fanservice. Hiro depends of it for his manga to sell.

2-Having an inconsistent power scaling. Natsu easily lost to Future Rogue and all of sudden beat him mid-difficulty after eating fire.

3-Cheesy pointless drama. Its obvious that the main characters are gonna live. Theres no suspense to it. For exmaple, Lucy, Wendy and Gray in the current arc.

4-Natsu is a horrible main character. No development wahtsoever.

5-The story and characters is weak

6-Lots of wasted potential

1. Friendship thing. I can understand that friendship is important thing, but Mashima overdo it so much. This arc started good, but Mashima once again messed up.

2. Natsu is bad character. He started like a good protagonist, but he went down later on. With him always taking on big guy (even though he is nowhere near his level). The way that Sabertooth twins are beaten is horrible IMO.

3. Third, I don't know, maybe fan service.

pokemon isn't exactly the go-to example for bad animation

1. Unnecessary fan service-The fan service is not a big deal to me, however I do get annoyed when it's put in places that it doesn't belong.

2. Anime Censorship-There is hardly any blood in the anime, it's all just scratches and bruises.

3. Confusing Power scaling- It's inconsistent sometimes and it's really hard to determine who is stronger than who.

However, the pro's far out weight the cons IMO.

Too much Fanservice at sometimes..lmao GMG arc

Bad character developement for Natsu being a protagonist.Here I am not bashing/hating Natsu...just saying U_U.Natsu fanboys can Justify this by saying his character developement not yet started..like when it is already 390 chapters :leaf:

it is like that in most long series anime....for example in one piece you know none of the strawhats are gonna die ^_^

Yes but in many of those manga the drama actually works well
