Standing before the enormous stone doors of the Uchiha Hideout Sasuke stopped to catch his breath for a moment after having traversed numerous steps through each level of forestry of the Uchiha Hideout. The day was shrouded in overcast making for the somber appearance of the hideout atop the mountain. It had been long before since the Uchiha Hideout had been put in use. The clan was dead and their hideouts did not offer sanctuary for their creators. Yet something drew Sasuke to it. He was unable to kill Naruto. Unable to go through with what Itachi had told him was the secret of unlocking the Mangekyo Sharingan. His hate wasn't strong enough yet. He needed more power. His climb to the top of the hideout was fueled by pure hatred for his brother - nothing more. He felt ashamed he wasn't strong enough to kill Naruto when he laid helpless in the Valley of the End where their ancestors fought in their climatic battle. They could do it. Why can't I? Sasuke asked himself before proceeding to push open the double stone doors that stood in front of him barring his entrance to the hideout. As he pushed the doors open he would close his eyes briefly close. Flashing before his eyes he saw Itachi once again on that night years ago goading him to become stronger to face him, "Run away… run away… and cling to your pitiful life. And then some day, when you have the same eyes as I do, come before me." As the words repeated over and over in his head he activated his one tomoe sharingan and finished pushing the doors open triumphantly.

Seated on the throne, Madara listened with closed eyes as Sasuke burst into the room and stammered over his replies.
"Yo...you're supposed to be dead!" Opening his eyes slowly to reveal his 3 Tomoe Sharingan, Madara looks into the eyes of Sasuke, trapping him within a genjutsu. A blank world of white, Madara's voice could be heard speaking to Sasuke through the illusion, ringing in his ears as he spoke.
"Uchiha Sasuke....what do you seek? Revenge? You lack conviction and will power; you do not have the necessary power needed to defeat Itachi, give up now."
Madara's appearance swirls and begins to form in front of Sasuke.
"Give up, your Sharingan isn't even fully matured, you have much to learn before you are ready."

Description:
One of the Three Great Dōjutsu (San Daidōjutsu), the Sharingan is the kekkei genkai of the Uchiha clan. Unlike the other Dōjutsu, not all members of the Uchiha Clan possess the Sharingan. This great Dōjutsu seems to awaken only on exceptional Uchiha members and only in times of great stress. Once awaken, the pupil turns red and a single tomoe (巴) seal appears around the center pupil. As the user masters and evolves their eyes, the tomoe (巴) seals increase, topping 3 per eye. The main ability of the Sharingan, like any other Dōjutsu, is to enable the user to see the flow of chakra. This ability is further improved as the Sharingan gives color to chakra, enabling the user to differentiate chakras from different people or from different sources. Although the user can see chakra through matter, he cannot see beyond dense matter or in long distances. Coupled with the ability to see chakra, Sharingan users gain acess to an incredible clarity of perception that enables them to read insanely fast movements or minor details, enabling them the ability to foresee in an easier way, traps, incoming attacks, etc. This clarity of perception is so great that a Sharingan user can sometimes start performing a counter to an attack that is still being performed, enabling the counter to be launched only a split a second after the attack. This clarity of perception leaves Sharingan users able to track high speed movement easily as well as to read through handseals. This last ability enables them to learn techniques much faster and sometimes copy them directly from the enemy, as long as the user has the necessary chakra affinities and requirements to perform it. Finally, the Sharingan is often linked to Genjutsu and mind-manipulating illusions, mostly because the user can, mostly through Eye Contact, directly and precisely use his chakra to manipulate the enemy's chakra flow. In return, the users clarity of perception gives him the ability to more easily decipher visual illusions cast upon him and see past them. The Sharingan has a great cost to the user though. The chakra consumption disables its use for long periods of time and, even when the user grows stronger, it's still hard to keep it active for long periods of time.
Note: The user, if he hasn't gained full mastery over his Sharingan, will need to spend a move to activate it, although as long as he has chakra and enough stamina he'll be able to keep it active until the end of the match. If the user is Sannin Rank or above and has gained his 3 Tomoe Sharingan and held it for one month, he becomes able to passively activate it, meaning he'll no longer spend a move of his 3 per turn.
Note: To avoid direct Eye Contact and be able to focus only on the body movement below the chin, the opponent needs to have mastered Taijutsu to possess the necessary skill.

It happened in an instant. When the doors swung open and the two locked eyes with each others Sharingan activated the entire world around Sasuke turned into a world of white and white alone. Deducing almost instantly he was locked in the Uchiha's genjutsu his shock quickly turned to a quiet anger as the revered legendary Uchiha trapped him in this basic illusion. Quickly he reversed the genjutsu on Madara as his words rang through his mind. The scenery quickly returned to normal with Madara resting on the Uchiha throne now trapped in his own creation hearing Sasuke's words in the genjutsu now instead of Madara's own. "My only goal lies in the darkness, Madara. As long as our clan is dead I will never give up hunting Itachi down."

I didn't think it had to be taught o_o. It never happened in the 1 tomoe awakening thread and since it included that 1 tomoe can reverse C-Rank genjutsu I just assumed it was something you got upon awakening. My bad ;_;.

Hearing the words Sasuke spoke, Madara's eyes narrowed as he frowned.
"You seem to be succumbing to the Curse of Hatred...very well, before we move on. Tell me all you know about the Sharingan that you were taught from your teacher."
As he spoke, the white room behind him begins to fade and turn into an inverted and black and red world, as if he had just cast Tsukiyomi on Sasuke.

"I would think you of all people understand hatred well Madara." Sasuke coldly claimed knowing that Madara's own hatred bore itself on a far wider scale than his own aimed at merely his brother. "The Sharingan is our clan's kekkei genkai. It manifests itself in most members of the clan and is considered one of the three great Dojutsu. The others being the Byakugan and the Rinnegan. To awaken one's Sharingan the Uchiha must experience an extremely stressful and emotional event. This is the tie between the Uchiha Curse of Hatred and love. When we bear love for someone or some form of a strong connection and that connection falls under siege and is stressed the power of our eyes awakens.
The Sharingan, when awakened, is in its most basic state of the basic Sharingan. This being each eye has a single tomoe of a maximum of three tomoes. Any level of the Sharingan do have some shared basic abilities. The first and most basic ability is that the eye can perceive chakra and see the chakra flow. With this we are capable of seeing chakra in objects, through small walls, etc and also seeing our chakra flow and the chakra flow of others which can be very helpful in indicating a genjutsu. Of course these abilities are not on the level of the Byakugan which is capable of seeing through objects quite clearly and seeing at extreme distances. The Sharingan also gives the user incredible reaction and tracking capabilities which improve as the user's eyes grow in power through training and combat. This allows the user to better follow movement and understand it as well as follow most basic taijutsu moves done by all normal ninja.
In its first stage the Sharingan is capable of seeing faster motions and of course has the same perceptive abilities as all other Sharingan - being able to see the chakra network and see chakra. Our tracking capabilities improve to the point where we can see faster ninjas, for example, someone who has opened the first gate of the Eight Inner Gates (1.5x). Probably one of my favorite parts about the Sharingan is that it is capable of seeing through D-Rank visual genjutsu meaning that you can pierce through them. This of course only means that you can pierce through the visual aspect of a D-Rank genjutsu. If the genjutsu binds you in any form you will not be able to break through that (however you can still see through it allowing you to easily deduce it is a genjutsu).
In the second stage the Sharingan's first stage abilities are enhanced. The user gains the ability to track slightly faster speeds equivalent roughly to the 2nd gate (2x). Of course the Uchiha is still able to see chakra and the chakra network as before and now they are capable of visually seeing through C-Rank visual genjutsu. The special quality gained by the second stage of the Sharingan is that it is capable of reading hand seals which can, within reason, predict the use of ninjutsu techniques allowing for the user to better counter and defend themselves.
In the third stage the Sharingan's abilities reach the pinnacle of the basic three stages. Of course, as with the previous two stages, all abilities are enhanced further allowing the user to track speeds up to roughly the 6th gate (4x). Of course still able to see the chakra network and chakra the Uchiha is capable of piercing through visual B-Rank genjutsu. This is where the user's perceptive abilities are pushed to the near limit. One can now keep up with hand seals and can actually copy techniques that the opponent is using. Of course this requires the technique to actually use hand seals. If it is just the channeling of chakra alone then it isn't enough to fully analyze the technique and copy it. The perceptive abilities also allow the user to see targets within the tracking range of the Sharingan as if they were moving in slow motion. This is probably one of the most dangerous abilities of the Sharingan as the user is now able to not only keep up and analyze taijutsu but they can actually predict what the target is going to do next making it very, very potent in close combat. As well as this the user gains the ability to use visual genjutsu which require eye contact as well as reverse genjutsu up to A-Rank.
Reaching the third tomoe however does not denote the end of the progression of the Sharingan. Most people will end at the third tomoe however. Exceptions have been seen. Itachi showed me the power of the next stage, the Mangekyo Sharingan, by trapping me in his own genjutsu. The Mangekyo is only awakened by few individuals and is extraordinarily rare. You were one of those men as well as your brother. The Uchiha Stone Monument revealed some of what those with the Mangekyo are capable of doing. It takes the Uchiha's dojutsu to the very limits and enhances the user's power significantly at the cost of the deterioration of their eye sight. It reveals the roots of the Uchiha's power in Yin Release through the techniques such as Susanoo, the ethereal warrior which is practically entirely Yin Release as well as Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu. Both techniques being heavily based on Yin. Once one obtains the Mangekyo they will gain access to these powers. However, usage will harm the user and take away their light as I have seen with Itachi."

Standing mid range from Sasuke, Madara speaks to him as he raised his right arm to grab his gunbai from his back. "Take note, , the distance between you and me at this moment. Although your eyes are far from mature, I am sure you are able to calculate it to be about ten meters. Now, in a few moments, I will proceed to execute a series of actions. Take careful note and utilize your Sharingan's prowess to your best extent."
Immediately upon finishing his sentence, a wave of chakra extended from Madara's position into his student's chakra system, successful infiltrating it. The surroundings around Sasuke appeared to fade only to be replaced by a barren landscape that stretched as far as the eye could see. Grass was non-existent and the skies were shaded over by gray as thunder sounded in the distance. Rain began pouring in heavy measures, rapidly turning the dirt into mud. Madara waited a short moment before running forwards, his right hand closing around the handle of his upon and upon nearing Sasuke, he drew it out in a diagonal manner so that it reached behind his shoulders. Upon stepping into striking distance, he turned the gunbai to it's side, swinging it to hit his student in the side, knocking him backwards.
"Tell me, Uchiha Sasuke," Madara said quietly to the student. "What drives you to continue to strive for greater knowledge upon our accursed Kekkei Genkai? What is your reason for fighting? Your reason for continuing to live in this forsaken world...?"

OOC: Apologies if this isn't what you intend. Since you used a D-Rank gen I just keep thinking its how you're testing my knowledge or something lol.
As the chakra entered Sasuke's chakra network he could see many changes occur around him with his Sharingan. Noting how the Uchiha Hideout once again transformed into a foreign terrain becoming a barren landscape that stretched infinitely in all directions. There were a few things his Sharingan could see as soon as this happened. Noting that it was clearly a Genjutsu as not only was it obvious in its creation but also because when he glanced at his arm he could see his own chakra network was behaving differently. Focusing he pierced through the genjutsu breaking the visual aspect of it. Because the genjutsu simply was a visual genjutsu it allowed Sasuke to easily perceive through it.
Upon breaking out of the barren genjutsu Sasuke would immediately see Madara would begin a forward charge toward his location. Quickly the 10 meter gap closed between them. With his Sharingan he was able to clearly see Madara change his grip on the handle of his Gunbai as he drew it out mid-charge. As this would happen Sasuke would draw his Sword of Ksunagi from the sheath on his back and await for Madara to enter striking distance between the two. As Madara came into range he could easily see through the basic actions of Madara's attack with the Gunbai. As he would turn it to its side to swing Sasuke would bring his sword from his back and block the swing before it could strike him with the sword in his left hand. With the Gunbai blocked Sasuke would listen to Madara's question and formulate his reply.
"My only reason to continue fighting is to avenge our clan. I am the Uchiha's avenger. I am the only one who can bring Itachi down. I need eyes that can see."

OOC: While good, you should avoid things like looking at your arm to confirm you are in a genjutsu. It can be seen as metagaming as you would have no real reason to look at your arm in most cases to tell. It could lead to later issues with Sharingan usage.

Genjutsus are a major factor in the prowess of the Sharingan, we as Uchiha need to familiarize ourselves with the reasoning behind each and every one. This means we need to understand why and how they work as well as realizing that these are indeed genjutsus when cast on us, and even creating one that forces your opponent in a corner so that they are unable to discover that their reality was twisted before it is too late. "
As their weapons pressed, he then asked Sasuke what it was that he hoped to accomplish. Frowning slightly, Sasuke responded "My only reason to continue fighting is to avenge our clan. I am the Uchiha's avenger. I am the only one who can bring Itachi down. I need eyes that can see." As their eyes locked with one another, Madara could see the resolve in his eyes; he had that same resolve, the resolve to strike Hashirama and the Senju down. It was what drove him for years, the Curse of Hatred fueling his anger and power. He couldn't shake the feeling he felt in Sasuke that resembled himself...

Don't make me laugh," Madara growled through gritted teeth as he pivoted on his right foot, using his left hand to grab Sasuke's katana itself, kicking him with a roundhouse kick to the back as he forces the katana out of his hand, knocking him away. "IYour hatred for Itachi, your rage fuels you but it also holds you back. But you will discover this on your own.."
Placing his gunbai on his back, Madara begins to speak as he flashed several quick handseals. "Your Sharingan isn't matured yet, but you can still use some basic abilities of it, one of which being it's predictive nature. I want you to view my seals and counter the jutsu at the right time. The fireball ignites externally. Description: After performing the necessary hand seals Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger, a ninja inhales air, and utilizing a large amount of fire chakra, spews a large fireball from their mouth after blowing through a ring made by the thumb and index finger of the user, incinerating everything in range. The fireball ignites externally. As he was thrown back by Madara's sudden maneuver Sasuke would lose the grip on his sword. Listening to Madara's words only fuels his desire to show his resolute desire to kill his brother. As the roundhouse kick connected and Sasuke dropped his sword a loud grunt could be heard as he was pushed back from Madara's position. Listening to the further instructions Sasuke would intently watch from his new location as Madara prepared to weave the hand seals. As soon as his arms moved to do so Sasuke would focus his Sharingan on them and intently watch. As the first seal was formed Sasuke would begin to shout them out as he noticed some interesting qualities regarding Madara's own chakra.
"Snake! Ram! Monkey! Boar! Horse! Tiger!" Of course, shouting a hand seal out would be slower even though Sasuke's eyes could perceive them at the flashing speed Madara would weave them at. Thus, by the time he shouted the final hand seal Madara would have already released the fireball. However, while he was shouting out the hand seals Sasuke's mind and perceptive abilities that were enhanced by his Sharingan, while not fully matured, allowed him to note what was happening in Madara's chakra, specifically the chakra in his lungs. As he wove the hand seals Sasuke noted a change in the nature of the chakra seeing as it went from raw, inert, and untouched chakra to an energetic, fiery, and hot reddish chakra. Clearly, he could see that Madara was weaving hand seals for a fire technique. As he shouted the final hand seal, Tiger, Sasuke would prepare his counter and weave the same hand seals as Madara's fireball raced toward his position. Leaning back he launched the fire ball and the two clashed neutralizing each other.
OOC: I had a little trouble with how I would describe seeing Katon chakra. I didn't want to say it was super energetic as that would note lightning nature more than fire but yeah. Hopefully that was somewhat accurate to what I was supposed to do. And I just wanted to counter your fireball with the same as it is the Uchiha signature fire technique xD. It was more for RP purposes lol.

OOC: Well, the general consensus regarding the different elemental affinities is that Katon chakra generally appears similar to how heat waves in a desert look, wavy chakra, so to speak. Water flows in a similar way, but more serene and "flowingly", if that makes sense, appearing in a push-pull manner. Earth chakra would be dense and more rugged than the others, lightning is more erratic and unpredictable whereas Wind chakra generally appears like thin fast moving blades of chakra, a trait of Wind chakra. It's not an exact science on how to determine the chakra though. We can never be 100% certain though; Other than the slight more sharpness aspect of Wind chakra in relation to the more thickness of Earth chakra, and other of these visual properties, there is no clear, 100% efficient, way of telling two elements apart. Likewise, the effects of a technique aren't clear just by looking at the chakra formation. Unless the user is already familiarized with the technique being used, the user will require to see the technique play out in order to fully comprehend it, otherwise the user can only deduce and extrapolate from his/her own knowledge. One must also take into consideration the fact that several CE exist that have traits of several elements and their own innate traits, something that makes it difficult to discern what element it is with certainty.
As Sasuke released the burst of fire towards his own blast, Madara began walking towards him. The fireballs collided with one another and extinguished each other in a bright and colorful display of flames. Sasuke's eyes were showing promise, he looked to be quite skilled and could possibly be of use to the clan's future at some point.

For example, by simply channeling your chakra to your eyes, you can simply break through visual Genjutsus by piercing through them with the Sharingan. This is tied to the fact that they must be visual in nature, Sound genjutsus for example will not be affected. You're also able to copy techniques of the opponent's by reading their handseals and then replicating what they do if you have the affinity for it. For example, if you have no Wind affinity, it would be useless to do what the enemy does as your chakra would be unable to be manipulated the way they do. This also applies for KGs, certain clan techniques, and other jutsus out of your basic knowledge or abilities (CEs, CFS, jutsus that utilize elemental affinities you don't have, etc). This ability often confuses opponents as it acts much like allowing us a glimpse of the future due to the excellent ability of the Sharingan to predict and recognize moves. And upon that topic, it also makes Taijutsu practically useless as with focus, you are able to track the enemy's movements. How their muscles react or change, their every twitch - these are important pieces of information during battle. And of course, the more tomoes, the higher the speed you can track. Speaking of taijutsu...."

He then swiftly raises his left knee into the man's right hip, causing him to lean to the side. He then finishes the first thrown attack by pushing his arm downwards in the form of a palm thrust, pushing the man to the earth.

Sasuke's eyes widened as he focused allowing him to see even the slightest movements in Madara's body. It was easy to watch his legs tense up as he prepared to break out into a full blown sprint which with his eyes could see that he was moving toward Sasuke. With his eyes as Madara entered striking distance he could see the muscles in his shoulder and bicep pull his fist back. Quickly taking a high stance Sasuke watches as the fist would move toward his ribs and with his Sharingan he is able to see a sudden pause in the muscles as the fist stops just before the ribs. Looking below he sees the muscles in Madara's knee tense up and move forward to strike Sasuke in the hip. Swiftly shifting his weight to his right leg Sasuke lift's his left knee up to intercept Madara's knee strike and push it off course, thus causing Madara's body to shift slightly. With his left palm and maintaining balance he would meet Madara's upper chest with a simple palm thrust to push him back and create space between the two.

With his own Sharingan, Madara could see Sasuke's movements clearly, allowing him to mirror the palm strike perfectly, pushing himself and Sasuke back. Locking eyes with Sasuke, Madara straightened himself out as he dusted hisshoulder, noting the formation of a second tomoe in Sasuke's eyes.
"Hmm...it seems your eyes are advancing...you activated your second tomoe. Keep in mind all that I taught you and the differences between 1T and 2T. Your second tomoe allows you to predict and copy Ninjutsu and basic taijutsu more clearer as well as making weak genjutsu useless against your eyes. Return when you've done a few fights with your Sharingan and we'll continue...."
