VS debates these days are far superior the ones those days. The user who brought the new version of debating to life was Negative Knight.

He's retired from debating though, which is a shame.

Imo he brought it only with himself and it died with him. I haven't seen anyone even compare to his style of debate, let alone improve upon it today. 2011 was the year of debate, and it died in 2012.
