Obito Uchiha walks to the training grounds where he was assigned his new student - a fellow Uchiha. Hidden behind his mask, he walked with haste, arriving only a few seconds late. Meeting the student, Obito uttered with a very threatening tone, "So, you wish to uncover the secrets of the Uchiha? I must warn you, it will be a long and grueling road. If you don't have the resolve for it, I suggest turning back now, scum."
The student did not leave. "Alright then. We'll start with this, what do you know of the Sharingan? Abilities, etc, tell me everything."

Upon seeing Obito approach him, Mangetsu nods once as a sign of greeting his teacher. Obito then proceeds to warn him about what was to come if one seeks to acquire and learn the sharingan. It was clear in Mangetsu's mind that he had to stay, it would be a disgrace to not even attempt acquiring his own clan's powers. Not to mention, he had plans he wanted to achieve and for that, more power was needed. Once Obito saw that the Sharingan-virgin did not leave his spot after the warning had been given, Obito proceeded to ask him about the Sharingan and its abilities which Mangetsu then replied to.
From my understanding, the sharingan is a dojutsu that can be awakened only amongst members of the Uchiha clan. It has a long story and its original abilities stems from Kaguya Otsutsuki. The sharingan has multiple stages, the greatest being Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan and the first one being the sharingan with a single tomoe which is awakened by experiencing emotional stress. I assume the sharingan wielder experiences emotional stress in one way or another when progressing from stage to stage, such as the first tomoe that is awakened when being in a difficult situation in battle or Mangekyou Sharingan when witnessing the loss of someone close to you.
As for abilities, it allows us to perceive chakra signatures with our eyes, which allows us to distinguish one person from another and the jutsus they perform to a certain extent. It also allows us enhanced perception in the sense that it helps us keep track of faster movements which in turn helps us analyse our opponent's body movement more thoroughly so we can more easily predict how they will move. The sharingan also focuses on illusionary arts, both offensively and defensively. Its wielder is capable of piercing through most illusionary techniques that affect the sense of sight and can also send illusions that were cast on them by an enemy back at them, making them fall to their own trap. These abilities' capabilities vary from what stage the sharingan has. Sharingan also has its own set of illusions, the most unique amongst them being of hypnosis type. Meaning they can force the victim to do certain things in reality rather than simply playing with their 5 senses. Another handy ability would be that of copying other shinobi's movements and techniques by memorizing the hand seals sequence and how the chakra flows within themselves when the technique is being performed.

"Yeah, the Sharingan levels are activated based on "needs" of the user, regardless of how much training they put in in battle or whatever. The abilities you discussed are mainly unlocked at the later stages ;p The 1T Sharingan tracks up to 1.5x faster, not as good, but helpful nonetheless. And they can break out of D-rank illusions, mind you, these are only VISUAL illusions, so any visual genjutsu works so long as it is within the rank of your Sharingan. For example, the hellfire Genjutsu, which 'summons' a large fireball in the illusion, is a type of visual genjutsu.

Description: The user will perform the Snake handseal and touch a given target (he needs to use his hands in most cases but can release the technique through his whole body if needed) for a small time frame. Upon doing so, he'll use the earth chakra to increase the weight of the target drastically. The technique can increase the targets weight up to 10 times. One interesting side effect of the technique is that when its used on wood based techniques (such as Zetsu's spore clones or normal wood), the infusion of large amounts of earth chakra into it will actually petrify the target in addition to increasing its weight. A similar effect can be achieved in other earthen materials such as mud. The user can also add weight to a given attack (if feasible) to increase both momentum and impact force, effectively adding damage to it.
Note: The weight change lasts 2 turns or until countered.

Mangetsu pays attention to what Obito told him and after that, it was time. Yes, that's right! Mangetsu mentally prepared himself, he didn't expect the damage required to be that great. At first, he only perceived his teacher about to slap him, though to his surprise that was no ordinary slap. Quite shocked, Mangetsu got bruised and was knocked several meters back before falling on ground.

All he knew was that it hurts. This also made him understand the upcoming damage would probably exceed what he would further be mentally prepared for, if they were as unexpectedly strong as that recent slap on his face.

As the student rose up, Obito would immediately create two spikes of earth beneath him. This would rise up under the students feet, piercing through it and keeping him in place.

Mangetsu spits out a bit of stomach juice as a result of getting hit by the rasengan and falls once again. At this point, he didn't seem fully conscious anymore, from an outside perspective he would seem as if spacing out. That would be because of him having difficulties breathing and also because of the pain that rasengan caused. Slightly shaking as he held his own lower torso with one of his hands, it escaped him that he was actually in a training session and remained on ground for several seconds in a position that expressed the pain his body experienced. Once Mangetsu got some strength back, while still in a somewhat "spaced out" state, he stands up again in a struggling manner. This is when 2 spikes would pierce through his feet, which would "wake him up again" in agony from his half-unconscious state. His eyes widened and this time, his screamed expressed painful anger.
Gotta make sure you don't die. LOL. :|
Obito approached the student and with a single flick, he releases a small gust of wind towards the student's face. His cheeks, and, well, his face would suffer very minor scratches. Some would open, allowing blood to flow from it.

Having gotten back from his half unconscious state with the pain delivered on his feet, the minor scratches added to his face by the wind technique added anger rather than pain into his mind. Mangetsu had begun to be provoked by Obito's words and actions, the student Uchiha's body clearly expressed that. Mangetsu's head was facing slightly downwards due to the pain while the now red-glowing eyes hidden behind some of his hair glared directly at Obito's eyes. Those newborn eyes were clearly expressing hatred towards Obito and maybe even the desire to inflict harm to him. His fists aswell as his teeth were clenched while panting due to the stress he had experienced. Letting out a scream, falling or showing any sign of weakness were things Mangetsu did his best to avoid at the moment in order to hide as many signs of weakness as possible.
