and the 1st's death hasn't been revealed yet.

The 1st was said to have died in battle some time after defeating madara and the 2nd sacrificed himself to distract a group of 20 elite Kumogakure ninja called the kinkaku force long enough for the ( then younger) hiruzen sarutobi, danzo and their teammates.

ya but he was to distract,i mean are these kumogakure ninjas that strong and as for the 1st who could have killed him,i mean the manga said that the 2 clans were the strongest,so if madara could not then who

And the manga showed the 1st and 2nd telling hiruzen that he would be the next hokage starting tomoro then later from danzo's side we see only the 2nd telling hiruzen that he would be the hokage

well we don't know how either of their last battles happened so its a mystery but im guessing the 1st was still injured from his battle with madara so the injury led to his death and the 2nd was just in a bad match up or the 20 were just really really strong.

It's a weird contradiciton in the manga but before the 2nd left to be the distraction for the kumo ninjas he named hiruzen the 3rd hokage in the manga so that was when he officially became hokage and maybe it was just words of encouragment from his masters when he was a kid.

i know but in the manga 123-14 it was both the 1st & 2nd that named him hokage,this is also showed in the manga series from hiruzen memory but it's different from danzo's memory

look how young hiruzen is there. he didnt become hokage then. lol after the first died. the 2nd became hokage. when hiruzen was older the 2ns became the distraction to let danzo and the rest of the present day elders live and all that holla atcha boi knowatimsayin

i know he is young but if u read,the 2nd said starting from tomoro u are the hokageU_U,am just saying how come he is to become hokage on 2 different occasionU_U
