No you have been paying too much attention. Of course it comes into play just not as much as people think. The news takes every single damn story of a black man being shot because it well get them either views or sales.
No, I haven't. You must be new to this, the national media is recently reporting it for the views. But if you are like me, and actually paid attention, this has been going on for DECADES. I personally been monitoring this for 9 years now. Just because YOU started paying attention does not mean the pandemic have never been there.

Said it might be. And a pellet gun isn't really a toy.
They were told it was a toy gun.
Also pellet gun =/= gun, plus a pellet gun is weak as hell.

He walked towards police with a pellet gun that can injure a small child and looks like a real gun. It isn't a nerf gun. They reacted poorly of course but what kind of parent lets there kid out with something like that?
1. The police did not look like a small child.
2. They were told it was fake.
3. You are thinking like the police. You have a future in law enforcement.

Also, someone brought up Ohio being an open carry state, if true, man......

Kind of. The head of the FBI said it the best.
This:
As a result, he said, officers often treat young black men, who may look like others they have locked up, differently from young white men walking down the same street.

Yes the cops were racist. That is a known fact now. However not town is like that. And some of those "insignificant reasons" were dealing drugs and other crimes. I remember everyone was sooo sad about one death, which was because a ****ing drug dealer ran and got shot. Not every story is Ferguson no matter how much people act like it is.
The prejudices existed, and when they act on it, there is no difference.

Also, there are alot of Fergusons out there, LOL, the south is littered with them. The town that I am in, is very similar.

You have not been paying attention to this "race thing". It is not petty emotion, nor is it a fabric of imagination it is the truth. You are from the states, do you not pay attention to the news? Do you not think that racial profiling is a thing? When you have these prejudices that comes from profiling, you react to anything.

The person who called the police told them IT WAS A TOY GUN!!!!!!!!!!

All he did was keep walking with his toy gun. Less than two ****ing second he was shot.

I am sure the police use this same reasoning to kill people.

Great world view you got there. Too bad it is so flawed.
I am not saying that all of them are overtly racist *cough* Ferguson *cough*, but a large number of cops have prejudices and kill blacks (and other minorities) for the most insignificant reasons.
Oh I have not? so you know everything about me and my life now? Do tell me more.
I called people who use their emotions to guide their judgement petty and stupid. Oh, so every person reacts without looking at the situation with a rational view before jumping into conclusions?

Yes, my view is amazing, your whole assumption and way of interpreting my view is full blown retarded.

If you are not able to see this "race thing", it means either that you have not been paying attention or you are purposely turning a blind eye. Either one, is your prerogative.

No, this is what is retarded: The people who refuse to acknowledge the racial issues in policing would defend them even if they came out and said "We kill n*ggas for fun"......

Scary thought,
It is what it is.

As I said, you're just making baseless assumptions about me base on the fact that I look at things in a rational way, didn't deny racism, didn't deny the police had some blame nor that racism doesn't exist etc.. the world doesn't work in black and white. It's not as simple as to say one thing based on bias beliefs.

All you have done is put words in my mouth, like the rest.

Either one, is your prerogative.
I was waiting for one of you to drop that^

I already knew about this. Everyone has. However if you go searching for this you will find the one out of 1000 cases and only that. This isn't an everyday in every town occurrence.

They were told it was a toy gun.
Also pellet gun =/= gun, plus a pellet gun is weak as hell.
You can take an eye out with one. And depending on the model unless you are holding it, you can't tell the difference.

1. The police did not look like a small child.
2. They were told it was fake.
3. You are thinking like the police. You have a future in law enforcement.

1. Yes because they are police.
2.That is might be. They were also told the kid was pointing it at people.
3. I have. And I guess by your logic every cop wants to shoot down any minority male he sees.

And? That doesn't mean a kid can have one or point it at people.

Yep. Ignore the rest of it. Only take the one bit in your favor, and ignore the rest. Now that is thinking like a lawyer!

Of course it did. But not every time a black man is shot it is because of racism. This kid shouldn't have been shot, but he also should have stood outside pointing something that looks like a real gun and can actually hurt some at people. And the parents shouldn't have let him take it into public. Everyone was wrong.

Yes they are. However the south isn't great. Look at the reaction to the shooting. It was hordes of people robbing and looting stores in the name of equality and to protest police violence, then people got more upset when the cops stopped them

It wasn't the kid's fault.

But the cop did do the most efficient thing from a survival standpoint.

Shoot first ask later is actually the most effective preventative measure. It may be morally wrong. But still effective nonetheless.

So, the fact that Blacks makes up less than 15% of the U.S. population but more than 40% (highest percentage out of all race groups) of the total amount of people who are incarcerated.

That must be just a coincidence.

1. So a pellet gun wouldn't hurt them.
2. A toy gun, just tell him to stop, but killing him is cool too.
3. Any person who does not say "yes sir, thank you sir, can I work the field now?"
This is not most cops but a good number of them, profiling does that too your mind.

And? That doesn't mean a kid can have one or point it at people.

^Open carry state.

Yep. Ignore the rest of it. Only take the one bit in your favor, and ignore the rest. Now that is thinking like a lawyer!
The rest is just explaining why racial profiling happens, but does that make it right?

If I kill someone, but then use the fact that I grew up in a gang infested area where alot of my friends died by shhootings and sold drugs, does that excuse the killing?
Or is that just the thought process that led up too it?

Of course it did. But not every time a black man is shot it is because of racism. @underlined: I never argued this.

Just tell the kid to stop playing with a toy gun like that. Also, why do people make toy guns if they aren't for playing?

I am not for the looting and robbing, that was just destructive to their community, but you know what? It got Americas attention and it started a dialogue.

If it was just peaceful protests, would that be all over the news? Would this tragedy get any attention? Your right, it should have been sweeped under the rug.

No. That is do to the weak programs that were placed to help minorities out of poverty. In poor places crime goes up. Granted some of it is racial profiling, but a young white kid from the suburbs has less reason to steal than an black kid in a poor community. Like I said the whole black community wasn't in a good place after the civil rights act, and nothing was done to lift them up.

1. They didn't know it was a "toy", and that "toy" could put an eye out and cause damage to the face.
2. Again they heard it might be, but when you see someone walking at you with what looks like a gun, they shot.
3. My step father was a cop. A Hispanic man who he had to arrested in the past walked up to him and thanked him. He said he managed to turn his life around and those two talked for about 15 minutes about what they had been up to like old friends. Not all cops are as bad as you think.

But......

Notice how they have it either pointed down, or up, not pointing it at people.

No but it shows that there are reasons.

No but it is a reason. people might actually feel sympathetic to it.

It already was news! Then they mobbed and people felt less sympathy.

No not really, they are not able to kill human beings according to my knowledge.
What? A pellet gun can cause legit damage. My brother shot me with one on the arm once. Stung like shit, and we got the fighting. Point being, though im not against cops killing. In this day and age, considering ALOT thats been going on with the system (Trayvon, Jordan, Micheal Brown, etc) Cops are more alert then ever, and frankly they should be.

You guys dont know, somebody couldve told that little boy to shoot that cop. That is whats going on through the cops head. So though the cops shot him, cops have every reason to be on alert, cause cops lives are in danger FAR more then any of us atm. So do i feel he was wrong for shooting the kid.. Eh, Im only going to say YES cause he was a 12yr old boy. If he was older, no remorse. You guys should see my POV from that. But do i feel the cop did, what most or any cop would do if he felt like he was in danger. Hell yeah. The boy came up to him with a pellet gun, WHICH can only be noticeable by the orange tip, and im sure from a distance, or a cop you not thinking "oh shit, lemme look at the tip of the gun to see if its real" Your first instinct is to defend yourself. Granted he couldve told the boy to drop the weapon or stop (I didn't see the clip) but if he did say that to the boy, then really the boy had it coming. Even though hes 12, you are aware of serious situations. And if he didnt his parents are to blame. I totally agree. ANY type of gun besides a water gun IN THE COMFORT OF UR OWN HOME is unacceptable.

All i can say is this, If this 12yr old boy was 21, would u guys still feel the same.
When I was younger the cops stopped both me and my brother (They said they were looking for a guy with a blue sweat shirt and blue jeans) and ironically both me and my brother had on a blue sweat shirt and jeans (We knew who they were looking for though, but meh) i was like 14, and the cops asked us did we have anything in our pocket, I then reached for my pocket while saying "Well I have a-" the cop QUICKLY drew out his gun and was like "STOP! AND TAKE UR HANDS OUT UR POCKET SLOWLY" I swear i thought a ***** was gonna die that die. Even at that age, I knew what wassup.

Ignorance for a 12yr old isnt an excuse. Sorry. He did what anybody would do in this day and age. Sorry
RIP little boy, but this is an eye opener for his adults

Teno i am sad to hear you say these, especially because you are an african american yet you don't seem to understand the lack of appreciation or importance placed on black lifes. A police officer job is not to deliver pizzas or to speak on the phone to customers, it is to protect the citizens and maintain peace and conduct. If you as an officer are afraid or get frightened at the slightest taught of danger then you don't need to be a police officer. This officer/s had disciplinary issues prior to this shooting yet he was still hired by the police.

If you have to shoot a twelve year old boy without giving him minutes to process what is going on the you sir don't need to be a cop.

I am saddened by your statement teno how many more black lives and african americans blood must be spilled innocently. Whats the excuse this time? He was a thug? Sold illegal cigarettes or drugs? Malcolm x once said '' He sells you the cards and the dice and puts you in jail when he catches you using them.'' Food for thought brother teno.Food for thought....
