Pretty intriguing trailer as just about J.J. Abrams trailers are. Are they held captive by John Goodman? Is he protecting them?

I loved how it goes from being a happy family like movie to dark. Pretty crazy if this is actually a Sequel to Cloverfield and also crazy that this movie is 2 months away from being released and nobody knew about it.
