I came across this picture and I had an epiphany. ITS SO TRUE.

I think in some series the character has to say the name of the move they're doing for it to work, but cases like Naruto, One Piece and Bleach, its just unnecessarily funny.

You've just realized that now?
I know this is a common thing, but I can't name an anime that I've watched where the main character doesn't say the name of his attack before he does it.

I find it stupid and annoying when they HAVE to say the name, there are rare times when they don't, there are times where they actually exist.

For instance Madara dropping two big boulders on the 4th division.
And I think Naruto in the valley of the end fight although I think I am wrong. I get the point it's about main chars though.

I like it when they do that. Especially when Goku does it.

Maybe it's some sort of advertisement trick. People in real life pretend to do a rasengan and yell it out, then someone else says what's a rasengan, then the person tells them about the show. Thus, getting the series more followers.

Good thing Madara didn't yell the name of his attack, then Onoki would have been prepared for the second boulder.

Atleast we know the name of the jutsu they are using. It helps to distinguish between various jutsus.

Without names, we would be like, "Madara's that massive stream like attack, what was it called again?"..etc

Let's apply logic. If they didn't say the name. ... you wouldn't know what to call it. Ex: sasuke's st tech.

The biggest legit trope is friendship> ya fav

Does AoT even have special attack moves?

I mean why would they yell something like ''Titan transform'' or something.

Is not my fault he decided to be broad and say"an anime"

And going further if they had special attack moves (which some of the ones I listed do) how would you know what to call it if they didn't tell you?
