Prepare though; plot device technique will give Bach a crazy plan to beat them and make Ichigo the only hope anyway. I just wanna see Ishinn's bankai. I'm pretty sure he's at least tied to 0 division.
I never really thought about where Ichigos dad fits in. That could probably be true. He could be part of the 0th division.

One they are the royal guard.
Two former captains have the chose to either be promoted such as kirio hikifune . or retire such as i believe a 3rd squad captain did before rose took 3rd captain seat. as for being on yama's level it is hard to determine. probly yes.
Side note byakuya's granddad could also be in the royal guard. If so he will be pissed when he finds out his grandson died or is dying.

Yeah same here! When you think about it almost more than half of the characters have not yet shown their bankai. (the captains with hollow powers, and a few other captains like kenpachi)
The fact that Juha Bach states that they need to "re-group and prepare for the zero squads arrival" means that he obviously intends for it to be a harder battle than it was to fight the Gotei 13, which in itself can mean that they are probably around Yamamoto's level. With that being said, were just gonna have to wait and see.

Yeah just have to be patient and see what happens. But most likely they have to be stronger because if there arrival happens only after the destruction of the gotei 13 then they have to be stronger than the gotei 13 otherwise they would be just as easily taken down.

They are the division that directly protects the Spirit King. Of course they are going to be extraordinarily and exceptionally strong. If they weren't stronger than the Gotei 13, then it would defeat the entire purpose of even having them. They are the last line of defense.
It would seem obvious that they would be that strong, but than again I bet no one saw Captain Commander dying before this arc started. I agree with you but at this point i wouldn't be surprised if the 0 division was easily ripped through.
Yeah I hope 0 squad comes, I just know Isshin was the ex captain of it as think about it no one knows of a Isshin Kurosaki, no one even thinks his spirit pressure seems familiar and the Shinigami that said this are well over a 100 years old and there was never a Isshin mentioned by the other captains.
plus I find it to convenient for Kisuke, Yourichi and Isshin to live in the exact same town, the exact same town that was meant to be used as a key into the kings realm personally I think Isshin was either sent there by the soul king to protect it.
And also does anyone get the feeling Isshin is a lot older than he's letting on...you see it every now and then like when he battled Grande fisher he talked to him as if he was a boy.
Then there's the 12th captain before Urahara forgot her name.
Other than that we can speculate Ginrei I feel is in there as well.
Also didn't they say that being in zero division was like a promotion from being a captain perhaps they are promoted for separate skills.

0 division won't be stronger than the 13squads cuz no one is stronger than Yamamoto.
