Kaiser: You misunderstand. I have done them a favor.
Rheon: How is this a favor!?
Kaiser: You see that little boy? He is infected with the nightmare virus. The virus causes the host immense pain. The pain gets worse if they cannot absorb other life forces. In a few days that child would have lost control of himself. That old man over there is his uncle. He proposed a joint suicide; but he seemed to not have the ability to do it himself so I helped carry things along.
Rheon glanced at the man and the small boy. The boy had purple veins bulging throughout his body. His skin was extremely pale. He was indeed infected by the nightmare virus. Even with this as an undeniable fact Rheon did not agree with Kaiser’s methods.
Rheon: So this is your excuse to kill people. You try to make it seem like you are helping us, and quite frankly it’s making me sick.
Kaiser: You’re wrong, I am not helping you. I am helping the world. When L.E.A.F was first created we had to rehabilitate the Earth because of past mistakes from the tainted people of the world. L.E.A.F has since rid the world of its environmental threats; however, it is not perfect. To reach that perfection we must rid the Earth of its poisoned soil, or in other words you. This is now the purpose of the satellite, and our purpose as well. We will reach perfection.
Rheon: That is just rhetoric coming from a mass murderer.
Kaiser: Project 13 comeback to L.E.A.F. We still have use for you.
Rheon: Heh heh. You still have use for me huh? Well there seems to be a problem. I don’t have use for you guys anymore. You guys never really did anything for me.
Kaiser: Are you positive? Everything you have now is a product of your affiliation with the L.E.A.F.
Rheon: Some of the things I have I need to get rid of. I’d like to start with getting rid of you.
Kaiser: ….And here I thought you would reconcile.
Rheon saw a glimpse of something passing through a window that Kaiser was standing in front of. He focused all of his attention on his reflection in the window and he saw a device floating above him. Immediately he dived towards his right as a laser shot from a spherical device from above making a small crevice in the ground. The smoke from the laser cleared and Kaiser saw that he missed Rheon. “Damn, he shouldn’t have been able to dodge that,” Kaiser said in immense frustration.
Rheon stumbled to his feet as he mockingly laughed at Kaiser, “Using cheap tricks to kill me Kaiser?” Rheon then takes out his sword and leaps in the air as he prepares to slash at Kaiser. Once he swings his sword he is stopped by a green barrier that pushes him back through a wall. A green sphere is floating in front of Kaiser. “So Kaiser, I see you have been working on your weapons.”
Kaiser: I have always been known for my ability to produce state of the art weaponry, and you are able to experience these first hand.
Immediately after this statement two blue spheres fly around Rheon and a red sphere flies directly toward him. The red sphere turns into a spinning saw and the blue spheres begin firing their lasers from his left and right sides. Rheon runs directly toward the red sphere and slides under it avoiding all three attacks while taking his gun out to shoot at Kaiser; however, the green sphere blocks the speeding bullets leaving Kaiser unharmed. “You cannot touch me Rheon so why won’t you give up.”
“Man I hate your guts.” Rheon forms a ball of energy and fires it at Kaiser; however, the green barrier again withstands the attack.
Kaiser’s smirk is what remains after the smoke fades. “The definition of insanity is repeating the same thing and expecting different results Rheon.”
Rheon: I wonder if you know the definition of dead.
Kaiser: Come, and teach it to me.
Rheon releases a blast upon the ground causing dust and debris to fly in all directions. Rheon uses this chance to hide behind a building while he formulates a plan. “Dang, I have to admit that is a pretty good weapon. I can’t seem to hit him and his attacks can overwhelm me if this lasts too long. I need to figure out how that green one works.”
Rheon fires a shot at Kaiser and the green sphere shifts from his front to his left side successfully blocking the bullet. The other spheres quickly zoom in Rheon’s direction. “Probably not my best idea, but at least I have a plan now.” Rheon leaps from his hiding place as the red sphere saws through the building he was hiding behind.
“We both know how this will end.” Kaiser says with a smirk as he fires his lasers at Rheon only this time they do not stop. They begin following Rheon as he moves.
“Kaiser you’re dead!” As Rheon says this he throws his sword purposely past Kaiser then pulls on the chain that wraps around it to attack Kaiser from behind. At the same time he gathers a large amount of energy on his palm to deliver a blow to Kaiser. Immediately the green sphere rotates to Kaiser’s back to block the sword. Kaiser surprised by the sudden predicament jumps up over Rheon. As Rheon continues his attack he destroys the green sphere that has been protecting Kaiser.
Kaiser: …Damn
Rheon: You can’t hide behind that weapon of yours anymore. Now you get the chance to fight like a real man.
Kaiser: If you think that was all I was capable of you are deeply mistaken-
Officer: Sir, it is almost time to initiate the final phase.
Kaiser: No! I have to capture project 13.
Officer: Sorry sir but…
Kaiser: Just hold off the attack. We can’t destroy this city until I have-
???: Kaiser this is not up for debate we will beam you up now.
Kaiser: Ellephloria?
Suddenly a couple of missiles were shot from the ship. They were aimed at the small space between Kaiser and Rheon in order to separate the two. Kaiser and Rheon jumped in opposite directions as a series of explosions followed. In the smoke Kaiser and Rheon stared at each other with murderous intent until a beam came down on Kaiser lifting him back to the ship safely, and unwillingly.
Eko: Is it safe to come out now?
Rheon: Yea but we have a bigger problem…before Kaiser left he mentioned this city being destroyed. I don’t think they plan on leaving any remnants of this place like they usually do.
Eko: B-But I thought this was the last phase of their “Purification” attacks
Rheon: Apparently not…and it seems bad enough for them to override Kaiser’s orders…wait why am I talking to you about all this when we need to get out of here! Contact everyone immediately and tell them to head back to the abandoned theatre!
Eko: Y-you’re right. *Grabs head set* this is Eko speaking. We have a code brown, I repeat code brown! Since that’s out of the way everyone we have another emergency. We need to report back to the theatre. Rheon says the L.E.A.F are going to destroy the entire city; in other words we need to get the hell out of here. Run for your-
Rheon:*snatches head set* I think they got it; let’s go!
Rheon and Eko scurry to the abandoned theatre which wasn’t far from their previous location. Once they arrived they met up with Sasuri and Gnome. Gnome looked extremely worried and pale while Sasuri kept his same calm composure even though on the inside he was not sure if they would live or not. They made eye contact with one another but did not stop to chat, but they ran down the flight of stairs while they discussed the situation.
Sasuri: The machines are pulling out. What’s going on? Are they retreating?
Rheon: No…they plan on ending it this time. I was fighting Kaiser when he mentioned the city being destroyed. I don’t know what kind of weapons they got but they are planning something different this time. I think they want to make an example of us.
Gnome: But what about all the people here that don’t know of the attack? Isn’t there something we can do? We can’t just leave them here.
Sasuri: We have no other options. We have no idea when they will start this final attack and from what I can gather it sounds like it’s going to be soon. There is no way we can save these people on our current schedule.
Rheon:…
Gnome: Damn
Sasuri, Rheon, Eko, and Gnome arrive at Jack and Xian’s location. Xian is seen trying to repair some parts of the ship while Jack has made many clones of himself to carry supplies and piece together other parts of the ship.
Jack: You guys are here early what’s the rush?
Rheon: The rush is we will all be dead soon if you guys don’t pick up the pace.
Xian: Why aren’t you guys fending off the enemy outside?
Gnome: UGHHHH!!! ALL THESE STUPID QUESTIONS!!!!!!
Gnome runs toward two extremely large circuit boards that power up the ship. Jack had about 10 clones attempting to push them but they were moving at a slow rate. Gnome picks each circuit board, one in each arm and runs toward the ship. He inserts them easily and the ship begins to power up. While Gnome does this Eko explains the situation to Jack and Xian.
Xian: I see…okay everyone on board the ship. We will begin our launch now. Sasuri you’re my co-pilot.
Sasuri: Roger that…
Kaiser arrives in the ship to see one of his L.E.A.F comrades sitting in his chair with a smirk. It was a very mature woman who wore all white with sea green outlines on the uniform as was the custom for all L.E.A.F officials. Her uniform was a one piece tight fitted skirt with long sleeves. She also had knee high boots.
Ellephloria:*smiles* Let me guess you underestimated the kid and you’re going to tell me that it won’t happen again?
Kaiser: Hmph, I had the situation under control until you had to interfere.
Ellepholria: That was my second guess. Listen Kaiser baby I know you mean well but I honestly think you were about to get your ass kicked to put it bluntly. Either that or you weren’t going to win in time and we are on a schedule. You know it’s rude to keep a lady waiting.
Kaiser: I think it is me you’re underestimating. Indeed the child has grown in skill but that is not problematic. What is problematic is that you let project 13 escape.
Ellephloria: Awww, im so sorry. Next time I will leave you down there so we can blow you up as well deal?
Kaiser:…Let’s just get this started.
Ellephloria: You know how I love a man of action.
Kaiser: Your attempts to make me uncomfortable are failing miserably
Ellephloria: I wasn’t talking to you. I was talking to that officer over there. Hey Marv
Officer: (sigh) my name is Peter but she’s beautiful so who cares?
Kaiser: Whatever…begin charging Zeus lasers.
Meanwhile at the abandoned theatre the rebels begin to initiate their launch sequence.
Xian: Before we launch I will detonate a series of bombs placed by Gnome weeks in advance of this event. They will provide a distraction and smoke for cover, for if they saw this ship launching in this manner they would certainly shoot us down on sight. Is everyone ready?
Rheon: Yea but does anyone else find it strange that a blind man is one of the co-pilots
Sasuri: I’ll ignore that
Xian: Detonating bombs now!
At the press of a button a series of bombs start to explode in various places. Debris is sent everywhere and all that remains is smoke and fire.
Kaiser: What is this? Is this some final attempt to destroy as many of us as they can? This is pathetic. All remaining air craft evacuate the battle zone and standby for operation Zeus strike.
Ellephloria: Wow looks like this town tried to put up a fight. They never learn do they?
Xian: Alright begin launch! This is it!
The ceiling above them began to separate but this was hidden by the smoke made by the continuing explosions. In a few seconds the ships thrusters were activated and they shot through the smoke and joined the L.E.A.F formation hidden in plain sight.
Gnome: I’ve never been this nervous. We are among our enemy. If any of them gets a clue of what’s going on we are pretty much dead.
Rheon: Thank you Gnome for your inspirational words.
Gnome: I’m just sayin this is scary man.
Eko: Well other ships are still joining the formation and we’re not getting shot at so I think we’re in the clear.
Jack: Yo, Rheon I think they’re beginning that attack you were talking about.
A bright light begin to appear underneath the larger ships as they slowly hovered over what was left of the city. They were ready to fire they only awaited orders which quickly came. “Fire…”, Ellephloria calmly said. As soon as she finished her command myriads of large lasers shot down upon the city. Each looked like a large pillar of fire. They were even able to pierce to depths deep underground. The fragile city was blown to pieces by the attack and all that remained were scorched pieces of metal and many craters taking place of the city that used to be there.
Xian: So this was their final phase…how could anyone be so ruthless?
Jack: All those lives lost for the sake of their purification. They’re going to do this to the other cities?
Xian: Probably not to all of them, but I expect they will do this to the major satellite towns. This only proves again that we are way past rally speeches and words. These people truly believe they are creating a better world by destroying us. Their conscience is clear so we must make sure ours is as well.
Rheon: I can’t believe I used to be part of that organization.
Xian: Alright everyone we have a ways to go before we make our move. So sit tight.
Rheon: Not like we’re going anywhere.
Rheon closed his eyes as he thought about the day he escaped L.E.A.F. There were strange tubes and tanks. People who looked to be scientists were running frantically and broken bloodstained glass was everywhere. Rheon could only remember his bloodstained hands and the screams from all directions. An alarm was methodically buzzing. He opened his eyes and looked out the window trying to purge the thoughts out of his head but the war torn sky only reminded him of his days with the L.E.A.F and a girl.
Rheon: So it’s coming down to this…To be continued
