Chaos was among the streets as air ships flew by. Most people were already inside buildings, others were hiding in the dark corners of the city, and some were in makeshift underground cellars. This gave them a sense of safety even though they were not much safer than the people still outside. Those still outside were people who had nowhere to go, wished suicide, or they were simply at the wrong place at the wrong time. This day was different from the others, however, because Purifications start around the same time and the same day once a month; this began much earlier than normal. Rheon ran along the streets with Eko on his shoulder trying to get as far as he could before it started.
Eko: Rheon pick up the pace we only have a few minutes before they begin!
Rheon: I could go a lot faster if “someone” wasn’t on my shoulder.
Eko: Stop fooling around Rheon. You know I can’t run!
Rheon: I don’t understand. Why are they here this early?
Eko: You could learn a thing or two from them. They are so punctual. When they say they are going to kill us they go ahead and do it on time.
Rheon: Really Eko!? Is this the time for that?
Eko: Never mind that Rheon look! They’re starting!
The closed compartments of the airships started to open. They began dropping humanoid machines down to the city. Each machine had a large Gatling gun which was the size of a school bus. The machine itself was larger than a two story house. At the same time the sound of foot soldiers was heard from the city’s entrance. If you never lived in the satellites before, you might have mistaken this for the end of the world. Rheon and Eko decided to hide behind one of the buildings to avoid being spotted.
Rheon: If we continue to travel through the main street we will just be sitting ducks. We will have to take another route and hope we make it in time.
Eko: Cool I’ll tell you where to go. I know this street like the back of my hand. We should take that street over there.
Rheon: That’s the main street Eko. (Face palm)
Eko: Oh…I thought it looked familiar.
Rheon: Come on let’s go this way.
Kaiser: Officer, I’m sure they have waited long enough. Let us begin and purify the taint.
Officer: Yes sir. Everyone we are now ready. Everything is online and functional
Intercom: We will now begin Purification.
It did not take longer than a second for the sounds of guns, explosions, and the horrified screams of the citizens to be heard for miles. The ground constantly shook beneath your feat, an every time you looked up all you could see was flames and smoke that contrasted with the peaceful sky. Kaiser watched the whole thing from above unmoved by the screams of the citizens; some of those screams even belonged to children.
Kaiser: So he is here correct?
Officer: We know he is located somewhere in this city. If we were to find him what would you have us do?
Kaiser: “Purify” him like the rest. Then bring his corpse to me.
Officer: Yes sir. I’ll inform the soldiers immediately.
Kaiser looked out one of the windows as a building exploded. He turned back to the pilot of his air ship. “Things are moving rather slow. Move to the second phase.”
Pilot: Y-Yes sir. Everyone we will now be moving to stage two.
Kaiser: Project 13…you will be mine.
Rheon: Man another dead end.
Eko: That’s it we are so dead.
Rheon: We’re not going to die.
Eko: Yes we are! The worse part of this is that you never said sorry.
Rheon: Why would I say sorry when I didn’t do anything?
Eko: I know. You didn’t do anything that’s the problem.
Rheon: That’s it! Are you really going to joke around at a time like this!?
An explosion was heard from miles away. Immediately following the explosion was the rumbling of the ground. It shook more violently than before. “What the hell is going on,” Rheon shouted to himself. He climbed a ladder to the top of an abandoned warehouse. What he saw was total destruction. If the soldiers and machines were not enough the L.E.A.F airships started to shoot large scale lasers down at the city. The west side seemed to have the most damage from these attacks.
Eko: This isn’t good.
Rheon: Yeah, they are going through their phases quicker than normal. I don’t think we have time to go around the main street.
Eko: Well if we do go through the main street won’t we die like you said earlier?
Rheon: Maybe not. If they are going to speed things up we should too. Look, there’s an abandoned motorcycle over there. Let’s just get out of-
As Rheon turned around he found himself on eye level with one of the humanoid machines. “Eko jump now!” The machine raised its arm and slammed in on the roof of the warehouse crushing more than half the building as Rheon and Eko barely avoided it. Rheon grabbed Eko and quickly reached the motorcycle while the L.E.A.F machine gave chase.
Eko: Rheon it’s still coming! Could you hurry up!?
Rheon: I’m checking to make sure it has gas!
Eko: Well if you don’t hurry the only thing we will be checking is into our reservations for Hell!
Rheon: I wasn’t that bad.
Eko: …
Rheon: Fine, let’s get going. This is going to be fun.
Rheon starts the motorcycle just as the machine gets there. The machine begins shooting at the swerving motorcycle. The machine had no trouble keeping up with the cycle because of its large strides. While Rheon was trying to avoid the machine another machine from his left ran through a building as it started to chase after Rheon as well.
Rheon: Dang this is the wrong day to be popular.
Eko: What do we do? If we don’t lose them they will follow us to the theatre.
Rheon: I know. Just hang on it’s going to get crazy.
Eko: I can see that. You’re heading straight for that eighteen wheeler!
Rheon forms a ball of energy in his right hand and shoots it at the ground causing it to shift in an upward motion. Using the manipulated ground as a ramp Rheon and Eko soar over the truck. Just as the machines start to reach the truck Rheon takes out his gun and sends multiple shots at the truck’s gas tank causing it to explode. Only one of the two machines emerged out of the burning smoke. The machine looked badly scorched and its left arm was missing.
Rheon: Damn, one still made it. It looks like we will have to take care of it.
Eko: Hey hold on I don’t think my heart is ready for another one of your stunts.
Rheon: Get over it kid.
Rheon summons his sword and sticks it in the ground causing them to turn rapidly toward the enemy. The machine has lost the arm that contained the Gatling gun so it attempts to crush them with his hand; however, Rheon easily swerved out the way and with one slash the machine lost its legs and fell down causing the ground to shake once again. Rheon turned back in the original direction they were heading.
Rheon: Phew, that was pretty close. It should be smooth sailing from here.
Eko: Smooth sailing? SMOOTH SAILING?! Did you forget those were not the only two robots dropped in this god forsaken city? News flash idiot the city is still getting attacked.
Rheon: Jeez, why are getting so angry? You should be thanking me.
Eko: Thanking you for what? Giving me cardiac arrest is what I should be thanking you for.
Rheon: Well I told you to lay off the pork chops.

Xian: I am fully aware of the situation we are in. Originally I wanted to leave right before the Purification because the anti aircraft systems of L.E.A.F are taken down 20 minutes before they launch. We have to leave now.
Jack: Leave now?! There are air ships all over the place. There are machines that have the ability to shoot us down. If we leave now we will die. This ship has survived the other Purifications so we should just wait this out and wait until we have another chance.
Xian: We could; however, how many more attacks like this can we survive. I’ve been here since Vulcan was first created, and they were 15 more miles to this city before you guys came here. Plus…Vulcan will not exist after this attack.
Sasuri: What do you mean? What makes this attack different from the others?
Xian: I believe we are an experiment for a new weapon that will wipe this city out completely. That is why everything has been so off based from their usual routines. I sent Dread to gather intel on this weapon.
Jack: How do you know?
Xian: I intercepted a message from Earth sent to the L.E.A.F central base. I was only able to receive bits and pieces; however, because my technology is very outdated compared to what they have now.
Sasuri: Well it looks like we do not have a second to spare. Let us be on our way.
Xian: Right. They have already entered phase two. They spoke of a phase four as the last phase. I assume that’s when they will unleash their weapon. It will take a little bit of time to prepare the ship so Jack help me prepare the ship while Rheon, Gnome, and Sasuri make sure L.E.A.F does not get near the theatre. Um where is Gnome?
Immediately after Xian spoke Gnome busted through the door. He was sweating and breathing heavily. "Sorry I’m late Xian! Those blasted machines broke my GPS. I was running around in circles before I was finally-,”
Xian: That’s nice Gnome. Sasuri fill him in as you all walk outside.
Gnome: Wait I’m going back out there?
Sasuri: What? Are you scared that you will get lost up the stairs without your GPS?

Sasuri tells Gnome everything that has transpired as the walk up a flight of stairs and walk outside. They travel three buildings over and climb a ladder to the top.
Sasuri: I still hear soldiers within a two mile radius. That is good news.
Eko: Good news? How?
Sasuri: With soldiers still in the area the air ships are less likely to drop bombs or use their lasers here.
Gnome: So how exactly do we keep the L.E.A.F away from the ship?
Sasuri: The best way is to cause a distraction and draw attention to ourselves; by doing that the L.E.A.F will not pay any attention to activity going on in the theatre.
Rheon: Good plan Sasuri. I guess you’re pretty good for a blind person.
Sasuri: (sigh) Why does everyone have to throw that last part in there? Anyway this is the plan. The ground soldiers are marching through the city so we will have to work on slowing them down. We must also be alert of the machines is everyone ready?
Rheon: I hope so because we have some guests already. (He points at a couple of machines heading their way.)
Gnome: Let’s get this party started!
Gnome jumped down the building and began to run toward the large machine. While running Gnome grabbed both of his axes as he hit a car with the back of the ax causing it to fly toward the machine and explode. Another machine came from the side and attempted to crush Gnome with its large metal fist; however, Gnome crossed his axes and held the fist up. While he struggled to hold the fist up, another machine prepared to fire rounds from its Gatling gun.
“It looks like you got a little carried away,” Sasuri said as summoned his steel blades, the Eight Headed Excalibur. He held two of the swords in his hands while the rest floated around him. Sasuri immediately dashed in front of the Gatling gun just as it was about to fire. The machine fired myriads of bullets aimed directly at Sasuri as the sound of metal clanging filled the air. Smoke covered the area and when it cleared Sasuri was still standing. After a smirk Sasuri leaped in the air and dealt a finishing blow to the machine. Gnome followed suite and threw the machine off balance and crushed it with his axes.
Gnome: I don’t recall asking for help.
Sasuri: That wasn’t for you; I simply grew irritated because you were making us look bad.
Gnome: Grrrr! When this is over me and you are going to fight.
Sasuri: If you’re still alive that is. Heh heh
Officer: Uh Kaiser you might want to take a look at this.
Kaiser: What is it now?
Officer: I really do not know. There are four unidentified persons counter attacking sir.
Kaiser: Humph, they must have already lost the will to live.
Officer: That’s just it sir…they’re wiping out our forces in the area.
Kaiser: What?
Officer: Th-They’re wiping out our forces sir.
Kaiser: Give me a visual
The officer displayed the area of conflict on an enormous screen. The faces of Sasuri, Gnome, Rheon and Eko were displayed. Kaiser’s eyes widened as he gazed at Rheon.
Kaiser: No wonder. That is Rheon Ladora, and I suspect those are his terrorist buddies that have been attacking and destroying L.E.A.F bases. Send me to the battlefield I will capture and kill project 13 myself.
Officer: Sir? What about the Purification?
Kaiser: Begin phase 3 in 15 minutes, I should be done before then.
Officer: Yes sir. All hands prepare deployment of Colonel Kaiser.
While Eko was getting lucky Rheon was wiping out the soldiers and machines one after another. Pretty soon the street he was on was only filled with dead soldiers, and broken machine parts.
Rheon: It looks like I’ll have to move on to the next street. Xian needs to speed things up.
??? : Please, just do it!
Rheon: The hell?!
Rheon quickly sprinted in the direction the commotion was coming from. When he turned the final corner he was frozen in shock at what he saw. There was a little boy with his eyes wide open. He was not moving or blinking at all. Kaiser stood there with his hand around an elderly man’s throat. Kaiser turned toward Rheon with an expressionless gaze and dropped the man beside the little boy. The old man was also immobile, his eyes closed and his mouth open. Kaiser held his deadly, cold stare on Rheon as he spoke.
Rheon: …You.
Kaiser: Oh, Rheon. You saved me the trouble of finding you...To be continued

I thought we were partners!” Eko ran into a dead end as he stared at the machines bearing down upon him. “Okay I’ll just need a spell to get out of this. Alakazam, Alakabuns, my enemy has them so give me some guns!” After a bright light appeared Eko looked at the object in his hand. It was a water gun. “No, no, no! I needed a real gun. Stay back I’m warning you!” Eko closed his eyes and pulled the trigger in full desperation. A mighty blast of water came from the small gun that blew the machines back and the recoil pushed Eko through a wall. “Whoa! That actually worked! Yea it’s time to party.”While Eko was getting lucky Rheon was wiping out the soldiers and machines one after another. Pretty soon the street he was on was only filled with dead soldiers, and broken machine parts.
Rheon: It looks like I’ll have to move on to the next street. Xian needs to speed things up.
??? : Please, just do it!
Rheon: The hell?!
Rheon quickly sprinted in the direction the commotion was coming from. When he turned the final corner he was frozen in shock at what he saw. There was a little boy with his eyes wide open. He was not moving or blinking at all. Kaiser stood there with his hand around an elderly man’s throat. Kaiser turned toward Rheon with an expressionless gaze and dropped the man beside the little boy. The old man was also immobile, his eyes closed and his mouth open. Kaiser held his deadly, cold stare on Rheon as he spoke.
Rheon: …You.
Kaiser: Oh, Rheon. You saved me the trouble of finding you...To be continued

Two other things that stood out, the first being your use of novel-style dialogue a couple times, which was a bit confusing in regards to the pacing of the chapter. Also, when Kaiser says "Project 13, ...you will be mine.", you cut straight back to Rheon and Eko. Some explanatory text might've been useful in between those two points, just to avoid confusion on the reader's part.
