Mangetsu has relatively long, light-coloured hair and pointed, shark-like teeth — the latter trait which all known members of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist possess. He wears an outfit very similar to his brother's, which consists of a dark, sleeveless shirt, light-coloured pants and striped leg-warmers typical of his village. Like his brother, he carries a water bottle attached to a belt around his waist and wears bandages around his neck — another trait shared by the seven swordsmen — and the standard Kirigakure forehead protector. Overall, Mangetsu and Suigetsu bear great resemblance to one another.

Mangetsu is quite a calm and quiet person perhaps the opposite of his brother Suigetsu who is reckless and loud. He picks up on how to do things very quickly due to his mastery of the seven swords the the Swordsman of the Mist use.

History:
Mangetsu's History
Both Mangetsu and Suigetsu trained with the intention of becoming members of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist together. This dream acted as their motivation for them both to complete cruel missions day by day. Mangetsu eventually succeeded in becoming a member of the Seven Swordsmen, mastering all seven of the swords before his death. His premature death seemingly demotivated Suigetsu.

Shinobi World War Arc
Amidst the battle with the Third Division, the reincarnated previous generation of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist are summoned by Pakura and Gari, under Kabuto Yakushi's instruction, with the intention of overwhelming the opposition. Amongst their number is Mangetsu, who after being futilely bombarded by various techniques, retrieves four of the swordsmen's blades from within a scroll in his possession.

Entering the fray whilst concealed by a thick mist, Mangetsu begins a silent massacre without a weapon, using just his Hydrification Technique to kill his adversaries. With Zabuza Momochi's defeat, the mist clears, exposing Mangetsu to the enemy. By the time Kakashi Hatake and Might Guy departed for Naruto Uzumaki's location the following day, Mangetsu had been sealed by the Third Division.

Hōzuki Clan Techniques and Nature Transformation
As a member of the Hōzuki clan, Mangetsu is proficient in the use of Water Release nature manipulation and can use his clan's main secret technique to liquefy his body at will. It can also be assumed that he is also versed in his clan's other secret techniques that revolve around the use of the Hydrification Technique.

Background
According to Suigetsu, this is the only sword still in Kirigakure's possession out of the original seven blades, by the time of the Fourth Shinobi World War.
Suigetsu also noted that his brother Mangetsu mastered the use of this sword in the past and is most likely its former wielder.

Appearance
The weapon itself features an enormous wide and flat blade with two indentations near its base, creating a sort of guard, and two handles connected to each other by a short length of cord, earning it the title of "twinsword" (双刀, sōtō). The overall sword looks like a flounder fish in shape and is also apparently very heavy, as Chōjūrō tires easily when carrying it for extended periods of time. When unleashed, it emits chakra from the holes found at the top which coats the entire blade.

Abilities
The sword itself is capable of storing chakra and the two holes at the tip of the blade emit it on command. This can then be formed into various weapons, including a hammer or a longer sword. The size of the resulting weapon appears to depend upon the amount of chakra stored up beforehand, meaning a larger quantity will be met with a similar increase in the weapon's ultimate size. These weapons are also formed with notable speed.

Description: After releasing chakra from Hiramekarei, Choujuro will shape the chakra around the sword into a large hammer which he then slams onto the target. The strength of the smash is strong enough to even blast an incomplete Sussanoo backwards. By releasing chakra from the holes at the top of the sword, the speed and strength of hammer is increased.
