Looks: While Aizen was a ninja of Kirigakure, he appeared as a mild-featured man with brown scholarly hair enhanced by square glasses, along with soft brown eyes. He wore the standard black uniform. When he left the village, he removed his glasses and swept his hand through his hair, revealing menacing eyes and a very different hairstyle; his hair is now swept back, with a strand hanging down his face. He also carries his sword, Kyouka Suigetsu, with him. This sword is strapped to his hakama and is concealed by his robe. The sword's only decoration is on the tsuba, which is hexagonal in shape. The two sides parallel to the blade are long, whereas the four sides above and below the blade are shortened, making it into almost a diamond or prism-like shape. It has a green handle. Otherwise, the sword resembles an ordinary katana.
Personality: Aizen is a polite, soft-spoken intellectual, often addressing his subordinates by their given names. He rarely shows any sign of alarm or distress, and often has entire situations planned out well in advance. Whenever confronted, Aizen is casual and uncaring, attempting to draw out a conversation and make small talk, which often infuriates those he is talking to. Aizen initially appeared to be a very kind, well-respected ninja and was looked up to by many. However, this was just a mask to disguise his manipulative, and very dangerous, nature. In truth, he cares very little for his underlings, and is willing to use almost everyone around him as pawns to achieve his goals. In his own words, Aizen claims to be unaffected by any form of morals or ethics, as he views them as mere restrictions on his potential. He is, therefore, willing to stop at nothing to further his selfish ambitions, including manipulating or killing anyone if he deems it to be necessary. He frequently appears to toy with his underlings for amusement. Aizen lacks genuine compassion and honor.

History
At an unknown point in the past, Aizen became a teacher at the ninja academy who taught the arts of calligraphy. Unknown to all but his accomplices, Ichimaru Gin and Tōsen Kaname, this was just a front that kept his secret experiments and activities hidden. While in Kirigakure, he was performing horrific experiments on many ninja to try and push the limits on the human body's natural capability. Countless hours of research had led him to hear of a young boy, named Kurosaki Ichigo. Knowing that he was a subject worth keeping an eye on for studying, he went to huge lengths to ensure that Ichigo's growth would proceed as he planned.
However, countless experiments had aroused the suspicion of the Mizukage, as the sudden disappearance of countless Kiri ninja has never occurred before, and Kiri was not at war. As a result, the Mizukage sent out investigation teams to find the source of these disappearances. When the teams of ninja and the Mizukage herself stumbled onto a hidden cave, Aizen had managed to dispatch many of the ninja and he escaped.
Journey To Amegakure
After having escaped the Mizukage and her forces, Aizen was free to wander the ninja world and further his ambitions. Knowing that joining Kumogakure, the home of Kurosaki Ichigo, would be an unwise decision, he decided that a place free from war and conflict would be the most suitable village to join. As a result, he had settled upon Amegakure.
Some hours before arriving at the borderlands, he had encountered a man known as BlackCrow, another villager who had abandoned Kirigakure. During their time walking towards Amegakure, they each talked about their reasons for leaving Kirigakure. Aizen, not wanting to have to flee again and search more for a village to find, said that he was falsely accused of killing many Kirigakure ninja. They then continued their travel towards Amegakure.
The Arrival
Finally arriving at the borderlands to the Village of Eternal Rain, Amegakure, he left BlackCrow to search for a place where he could safely conduct his experiments. He found a small cavern where he could house his test subjects and other things significant to his research. After deciding that he would use that cavern as hideout, he returned to where BlackCrow was waiting for him. After some time of waiting, he was greeted by Yashiro, Abon and Howard.
The Path to Power
Upon arrival, Aizen had come into contact with various people who were willing to train him. Thus, the first step of his grand scheme had been taken...
"No one stands on the top of the world. Not you, not me, not even gods. But the unbearable vacancy of the throne in the sky is over. From now on...I will be sitting on it."
