Akio is a fair-skinned young woman who stands at 5’3”. She has straight, black hair that falls to her mid-back. She has long bangs that reach her collarbone, and they even cover her right eye completely. She wears her Konoha headband around her head. Akio has dark, blue eyes like her mother’s. She wears a blue, short-sleeved shirt that exposes her stomach and upper chest. She also wears a black skirt, knee-high boots and gloves. During her genin days, Akio’s hair was short with short bangs and a thick strand of hair bound near her left ear. She wore a blue sweater with matching pants, her Konoha headband around her waist, and black sandals. Akio’s hands were also bandaged due to wear and tear on her skin during her training.
Personality
Akio acts on both logic and emotions, and she’s very aware that her head and heart can be in two places at once. This often leads Akio to be torn about many things, but whatever she chooses, she supports her decision, even if it ends up being the wrong one. She’s very calm and thinks before she acts, which often makes her a voice of reason. She’s a determined person who has fierce loyalty to those she cares about and Konoha. Akio is also very modest, even to the point where she won’t take credit for almost any success she has. Yet, this doesn’t mean that she has no sense of responsibility. When something is her fault, she knows it and does anything to make amends. Akio is empathetic and sensitive and, sometimes, she cares so intensely about someone or something that she’s in way too deep before she knows it. She wears her heart on her sleeve, and she’s very open about many things. Akio isn’t afraid to speak her mind or share her feelings. She loves to meditate in her spare time. She doesn’t care for girly things (going to the spa being her only exception) and hates gossiping.

History
Background Info
Akio Yuki was born in the Land of Water after a series of civil wars had ravaged the country. Akio’s parents called her their “Little Popsicle” because of how frigid Akio’s skin could be. Little did they know that, like themselves, Akio possessed kekkei genkai, and this caused their family much grief during Akio’s early years. Since kekkei genkai users had fought on both sides of the conflict, many of them were discriminated against and hated. Some were even sentenced to death once the wars had ended. When Akio was five years old, her father, along with several other kekkei genkai users from her village, were executed before her very eyes. It served as a warning to the surviving users not to use their powers ever again.
Afterward, many members of the Yuki clan either went into hiding or pursued normal lives. Akio and her mother went into hiding for a few years. During this time, Akio’s mother trained Akio in the ways of the kekkei genkai, which resulted in the two of them constantly moving throughout the Land of Water and almost being killed numerous times. Finally, Akio’s mother decided that this wasn’t the life she wanted Akio to live. She told Akio that she wanted her to be free to learn more about her kekkei genkai and live her life on her own terms. She wanted Akio to be happy. So, she helped Akio get to the border of the Land of Water to cross the seas and enter the Land of Fire, telling Akio to find a village called Konoha. However, a group of mercenaries pursued them, and they claimed to be hunting remaining kekkei genkai users. Akio’s mother sacrificed herself and fought the group off, allowing Akio to escape.
When Akio arrived in the Land of Fire, exhausted and starving, she collapsed near a small farming village. An old widow took Akio in and nursed her back to health. Akio asked the woman if she knew anything about Konoha, and the woman informed Akio that Konoha was the ninja village of the Land of Fire. Akio wasn’t sure what a ninja village was and why her mother would tell her to find it. Yet, Akio set out from the woman’s home, thanking her. Somehow, Akio survived the long and arduous journey to Konoha, making many stops along the way for food and rest. The Sondaime Hokage’s assistants, Izumo and Kotetsu, saw her enter the village and took her to Hiruzen. Akio told him who she was and her story. Hiruzen refused to turn Akio away, especially knowing the danger she would return to in the Land of Water.
Akio was then enrolled in the Academy and graduated at age 12.
Chunin Exam Arc
During the first phase, the written test, Akio uses panes of ice to reflect a fellow student’s paper and copy his answers. For the second phase, in the Forest of Death, Akio and her team defeat a team from Kusagakure and take their earth scroll. This is when Akio meets Karin for the first time. During the preliminary matches before the third phase, Akio is paired up with her teammate and hates the idea of fighting him. However, she easily defeats him.
For the final matches, Akio waits for her match to begin and becomes anxious. But, she urges herself to remain calm as she watches the other matches. Sasuke proceeds to fight Gaara, but the final matches are interrupted by the beginning of the invasion of Konoha. Akio doesn’t get to have her match.
Invasion of Konoha Arc
Akio manages to perform a release on herself and doesn’t succumb to sleep. She finds her teammates and helps to fight off the Sound ninja. She later attends the funeral of Hiruzen and silently thanks him for everything he did for her.
Sasuke Retrieval Arc
Sasuke abandons the village. Akio sends the rescue team off along with Sakura and Rock Lee.

Part II: Shippuden
Akio earns the rank of chuunin at age 14, along with her teammates.
Sai and Sasuke Arc
Now 16, Akio is told of the new Team 7’s encounter with Sasuke, and she’s intrigued by their find.
Itachi Pursuit Arc
Akio and her team, along with Team Kakashi and Team 8, decide to group up and attempt to find either Sasuke or Itachi. They encounter Kabuto and, after a brief talk, the group continues.
When the group moves on to find Sasuke, they are intercepted by Tobi. They are distracted until they hear the news that Itachi is dead. They proceed to hopefully find Sasuke, but no luck.
Invasion of Pein Arc
Akio is severely wounded, along with many other ninja and villagers of Konoha.
Five Kage Summit Arc
Akio spends this time in Konoha’s hospital, recovering and healing from her battles during Pein’s invasion.
Confining the Jinchuriki Arc
Akio joins the Fourth Shinobi World War as a member of the Allied Shinobi Forces in the Third Division and prepares for the upcoming battles.
Shinobi World War Arc
Alongside Kakashi, Akio assists in fighting and sealing Zabuza and Haku. Akio knows about Zabuza and Haku from what she's researched, and she feels a huge amount of respect for Haku, a fellow member of the Yuki clan. The two engage in battle, and Akio is surprised at how powerful Haku is, even though he’s a reanimation. Akio admits to Haku that she would have liked to learn even half of the techniques he had. However, Haku responds by telling her that she has yet to even unlock half of her own potential, and he says that her true power will emerge in time. Zabuza and Haku are finally sealed, and Akio and the rest of the Third Division heads to the main battlefield.
