Looks

Tōshirō is short, with turquoise eyes and short, spiked, white hair, which tends to draw attention. He wears a standard sleeveless captain's haori with a green sash around his shoulders, held together by a round, star-like clip. The sash holds his Zanpakutō's sheath in place on his back and is tied to it at either end. He sometimes walks around in his tabi. He is relatively young by Nekura standards, and has the appearance of a child. Sometimes he wears a black, short-sleeved, golf shirt and gray pants. He also wore the uniform of Konoha High School.

Before Tōshirō was a Nekura, his hair was not as spiky, with only a few spikes here and there. He also wore the standard Konoha outfit, but with the addition of the Chuunin's insignia on the left breast of his outfit.

17 months later Tōshirō appears sporting a hairstyle similar to that before he became a Nekura, and a long turquoise scarf. His green sash has also changed to a thin chain, but still retains the star-like clip.

After training for an unspecified amount of time in preparation to fight the Akatsuki, Tōshirō's hair appears to have grown longer, his fringe now reaching down to his eyes despite being held up by a newly acquired bandana. He also appears lankier than before, with his robes loosely hanging off of his body.

Personality

Hitsugaya is generally mature and serious, in contrast to his old and free-spirited sensei, Rangiku Matsumoto. Despite their personality differences, he and Rangiku seem very close. Tōshirō is shown to be easily annoyed by others goofing off or drawing unneeded attention to themselves, as shown when he leads a team of Genin into Ichigo Kurosaki's school. Hitsugaya hates anything that he deems childish as well as being described as something close to a child, such as an elementary school child. He is overly protective of Momo Hinamori and Ryūji Suguro, due to the fact that they were old childhood friends. Hitsugaya dislikes summer and warm weather in general.

Tōshirō's favorite foods are watermelon and amanattō. He does not like dried persimmons. During his childhood in Konoha, he was so skilled with spinning tops that he became the local undefeated champion. He works very hard, but his motive seems to be that if he finishes quickly, he can return to his afternoon nap. He believes in the saying "children who sleep well, grow well," and hopes to grow quickly, a wish shared by his subordinates. Naturally, they do not voice this fact in front of him, for even regularly practicing this adage for so long, he did not really grow in height.

Hitsugaya is usually joked about by many of the other Chuunin in Kono as well as by his enemies. Despite these jokes, or perhaps because of them, Hitsugaya has developed a cold attitude toward most people; he tolerates these jokes and goes on with his duties. Although he has shown anger towards jokes, he doesn't take action against whomever insulted him unless they are his enemies, and has never overreacted because of them. The only thing he cannot tolerate is not being addressed as "Captain Hitsugaya," or an inappropriate use of his name, as he worked very hard for the title, so he gets angry when not addressed as such. Coincidentally, however, he does not address any other officer with their title, only their last names. The only person that actually calls him by his given name is Ichigo, who is constantly reminded to address him properly, and Hinamori & Ryūji, who are the only people allowed to get away with it. Hinamori tends to call him "Hitsugaya-kun" and both she and Ukitake occasionally use "Shirō-chan" (シロちゃん) — a nickname meaning "Whitey" in reference to his hair — in both cases without any repercussion. In addition, Karin and her friends call him by his first name and they are never given any rebukes for it. Jūshirō Ukitake often gives Hitsugaya candy and other food because "Jūshirō" and "Tōshirō" sound similar and because they both have white hair, making them both "Shirō-chan."

During his duel with Gin Ichimaru, Ichimaru remarks that Hitsugaya is the embodiment of a heavenly guardian that would be reincarnated every few centuries.

History

Ever since he was a little kid, Toshiro has been a lone wolf. His parents had died while he was still a small kid and left him in charge of a monk. Toshiro didn't like his new home and often wondered where his parents were. The monk did his best to comfort him but could never get through to him but he could not take away the sadness in the boys heart. Had he failed? Was there no hope for this boy? The monk seeked counsel from his friend on how to help the boy. The friend gave him a solution that their boys should meet and be friends. So they brought the two boys together and they met.

Boy: (Smiling) Hi my name is Ryūji Suguro. But you can call me Bon.
Toshiro: ........
Bon: What's wrong?
Toshiro: ........

Toshiro went up to the boy and whispered in his ear, "You are weak." With that said, Toshiro punched Bon hard in the stomach and then started walking back to his room. Bon fell to his knees and grasped his stomach. He yelled to Toshiro as he felt the terrible pain in his stomach. "You are wrong. You are the one who is weak because you cannot let go of your hatred." He stood up while clutching his stomach, barely able to stand on his own. Toshiro looked at the boy and gasped at the boys determination and wisdom. Then he gave an angry look at him and proceeded to walk away when he tripped on one of his toys. Bon could be heard laughing loudly in the background. Toshihiro got up more angrier than ever and charged back at Bon and the two began to fight. The two monks laughed and knew the two would get along just fine. Afterwards the two made up and apologized to each other. The two then became real good friends and even joined the academy together. They passed together and went on a couple of missions together once they had become Genin. Konoha had been a good place to them all those years and in the process made many friends and allies. But when Rin had left the village and Bon had decided to leave as well, the two decided to leave together. However the two came at a crossroads once reaching the port in the Land of Fire. Bon was about to set sail to Kirigakure when Toshiro decided that he would not go. The two argued about it but eventually Bon came into reason and accepted his friends wish. So as Bon slowly faded into the distance, still waving to his friend, Toshiro cried because it would be a while until the two would meet.

Toshiro made his way to Amegakure, the land of his ancestors. He had gathered intelligence for a year now and finally became able to pursue his dreams even though it meant leaving everything behind. He traveled for many days and along the way met many friends and battled many tough opponents. When he finally came to Ame, he talked with the Kage about his situation and he was allowed entry. Though he kinda had to start from the bottom again, Toshiro had no qualms as this was his chance to prove himself. In time he became a respected captain and lead Ame to many victories. At his side stood new allies and many lives he was responsible for. Over time he received several letters from his friend and how his life was and the two kept a good communication between them. Though far away, the two set up an academy on each side to help teach students about how to fight and be a better shinobi. Toshiro became quite respected and known that it reached the ears of the Nekura. Though they did not think him worthy they decided that maybe in time he would prove himself worthy enough to be a true member. For now he quietly faded into the background and learned as much as he could until that day came.

After his stay at Amegakure, the village in the rain for several months, Toshiro felt the need of adventure. He left the village and headed towards the Bloody Village Hidden in the Mist. Although he's forged close ties with numerous villagers from Amegakure, he left to start a new life. Toshiro was accepted by the Mizukage and from there, he stayed quiet while serving the village. During the timespan he spent from his enlisting as an Amegakure shinobi to a Kirigakure shinobi, he grew tremendously in terms of strength and intelligence. He diligently progressed in his training and soon enough, transformed into an exceptional shinobi who completed missions for the sake of his new village, Kirigakure and kept his eyes opened for adventure awaiting him. His first mission, escorting a group of a caravan towards Sunagakure is currently being worked on, along with new villagers in the mist. Furthermore, to explore the shinobi world, Toshiro decided to take part in the Taijutsu Tournament, where he hopes to defeat his opponents and earn rewards, if possible.

Water Prowess
After spending his time in Amegakure, Toshiro was able to master the water element. Having trained extensively with other water masters, Toshiro became quite ferocious with it that he was able to perform all water jutsu that require handseals, with just one handseal. Though he was pretty skilled with water, he could however not perform them without a water source like his hero, Tobirama Senju, who was said to be able to make water in areas not normally possible.

Wind Specialty
Toshiro has always been fond of the wind element, because of its fast and slicing properties. He soon perfected and mastered the element of wind. He trained himself and eventually adapted to performing hand seal for wind techniques at a faster rate then the common shinobi.

Foreign Chakra Immunity
Due to his body being fouled by the chakra of the 10 tailed beast in his induction to the Nekura clan, Toshiro's chakra system now automatically rejects outside chakra sources making him immune to all genjutsu, Gentle Fist and other injections of chakra. This also makes him three times as hard to heal from medical ninjutsu.

Nekura Clan Cloak
The special robes of the Nekura Clan are completely black, fashioned like the Akatsuki robes with the mark of the Juubi on the upper back of the robe. The color of the emblem depends on rank of wearer signifying their inept ability with Keigoku. Normal swords wont cut through neither will kunai or shuriken.

Taijutsu Expertise
Toshiro trained his body vigorously in preparations for the upcoming Tournament that consisted of all taijutsu, hand to hand combat fighting. Because of his constant training and strive to become stronger, especially in the field of taijutsu, he learned to fight more efficiently.

Description: As we all know, the sage of the six paths carried a staff with him throughout his journeys around the Naruto World. Years and years after his death, an old clan, who in the present day remains unknown, attempted to recreate the staff of the Sage of the Six paths, hoping that it would bring about great power and luck. They tried creating a staff with a power that they imagined would match the Sage's staff, however, no one knew the extent of the Sage's prowess. They continued to experiment on the staff, adding this and that until they would eventually create a staff which they believe was powerful, but pale in comparison with the Sage's power. For years, they relied on the staff's power as military strength as well as the strength of their people. Years past and wars grew along with rebellion and power. The small clan was outnumbered and easily defeated by other clans. At that time, the few survivors of the battle knew they would soon die off along with their clan, and due to their extreme hate of the opposing clans, they hid away the weapon in a temple. It was later found by an old monk, who in turn, gave it to his disciple. The staff would go down many generations and in our current time, is now being held by EdwardSama. The staff itself is quite plain. It is about the size of the user and is treated like the same way the Sage held his staff, however, due to time differences, the clan could not exactly mimic the appearance of the staff.. It is made of durable petrified wood and is indestructible. The real power comes from the orb on the top of the staff. The user will channel their chakra on the staff and direct it on the orb, and based on the elemental chakra they decide on channeling into the orb, that is the type of abilities the staff would be able to perform. The staff's techniques are also quite simple, being able to send out offensive attacks of an element and break/defend against another element.
