The chakra can also be sent through the ground itself in order to eliminate an opponent who may be hiding within the earth itself, but causing more damage the deeper it travels, destroying the structural integrity of the earth itself and causing more than fair amounts of damage. The jutsu does not necessarily paralyze unless the user literally slaps the opponent, otherwise, it just destroys.
